After winning the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots last season, running back LeGarrette Blount has made the trip once again.

This time, however, he will suit up against the Patriots instead of with them.

Now a Philadelphia Eagle, Blount appears to have extra motivation for Sunday’s game, as New England didn’t re-sign him following the 2016 season, even though he had led the NFL with 18 rushing touchdowns and rushed for 1,161 yards in 2016.

But instead of calling out his former team before Sunday’s game, Blount focused his fire in a different direction.

Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre was asked to be a special guest for the Eagles on the night before the Super Bowl, giving them a speech for extra motivation, but Blount isn’t impressed.

On Thursday, the NFL Network’s James Palmer asked him about Favre’s speech.

“How many Super Bowls has he won?” Blount responded.

Do you think Blount's comments were disrespectful?

“There ain’t too much I want to ask him,” he said.

Favre did in fact win a single championship. In 1997 he led the Green Bay Packers to victory in Super Bowl XXXI.

Interestingly enough, Favre’s victory came against the Patriots, but Tom Brady was still in college at the time and Drew Bledsoe was New England’s quarterback.

Favre is second in NFL history in passing yards and touchdown passes, and led his teams to a record of 186-112 in a stellar 20-year career.

Despite Blount’s criticism, Favre could provide some valuable information and inspiration to the Eagles.

If nothing else, he could talk about overcoming injuries and obstacles in the course of his legendary career.

Some fans didn’t appreciate Blount’s remark.

In fact, he walked it back shortly thereafter, saying he was kidding.

Blount’s production has greatly declined in Philadelphia; he rushed for 766 yards for just two touchdowns on the year.

But he has teamed up with Jay Ajayi in the Eagles backfield to wear down opposing team’s defenses.

The Eagles ranked third this season in total rushing yards, combining for 2,115 yards, averaging 132.2 yards per game.

Blount and the other Eagles backs will look to run all over the Patriots, who gave up 366 yards per game (29th in the league) and 115 rush yards per game (20th in the league).
