Duck Dynasty fans eager for a new season of Robertson family antics and escapades have finally gotten the word they’ve been waiting for.
Though the A&E cable network hasn’t issued a formal notice that the popular show will be renewed for an eighth season, the official show page on Facebook has begun to reply to viewer inquiries; and it certainly appears that Phil, Willie, Korie, Sadie, Si, Jep and the rest of the Robertson clan will return with fresh episodes in the near future.

One reason for the all-but-certain return of the Robertsons for another season on TV may be that they want another crack at show biz success. The musical based on the book written by Willie and Korie didn’t fly in Las Vegas. The entertainment website The Wrap reports that the curtain dropped on the “Duck Commander Musical” just a few days ago, after a little more than a month playing to less-than-desired audiences at the Rio Hotel and Casino.
“Tickets were originally set for sale through June 30. But after getting a lukewarm reception in Sin City, the producers decided to pull the plug early.”
As for the return of Duck Dynasty to television, a recent article in the industry publication Variety noted that the program that was once THE big show on A&E was given only a mention in the network’s New York announcement of its lineup of new and renewed offerings.

A&E’s numbers have been dragged down by declining viewership for what had been its flagship series, the countrified reality series “Duck Dynasty.” The show’s popularity has ebbed in the months since patriarch Phil Robertson made headlines for controversial comments about his social views, but “Duck Dynasty” still got a shout-out during the presentation.
