Texas Senator Ted Cruz did not receive a heartfelt sendoff after finishing his speech at the Republican National Convention.
Cruz received a chorus of boos from the delegates after it became clear he would not officially endorse his former opponent, and Republican nominee, Donald Trump.
Trump tweeted later, “Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn’t honor the pledge! I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. No big deal.”

Despite the negative reception from the convention audience, Cruz remained focused on his own political endeavors. Cruz sent an email, which makes reference to his convention speech the night before, asking for funds and support for his 2018 Senate campaign.
It was an honor to speak to the delegates at the Republican National Convention.
As our cause goes forward, I want to remind you about the stakes.
Americans are furious—rightly so—at a political establishment that cynically breaks its promises and ignores the will of the people.
But there is is a better vision for our future: a return to freedom.
If we choose freedom, our future will be brighter.
Some have speculated Cruz’s eyes are set on the 2020 presidential race.
