AL Dem's Reason to Abort: Babies Could Remind Moms of Rape

Share

According to Alabama state Sen. Vivian Davis Figures, the barbaric practice of abortion is defensible because babies could remind their mothers of rape.

The Alabama Democrat resorted to this disturbing argument on Tuesday before the Alabama Senate passed its ban on medically unnecessary abortions.

“Do you know what it’s like to be raped? Do you know what it’s like to have a relative commit incest on you?” Figures asked Republican state Sen. Clyde Chambliss, one of the bill’s cosponsors.

“OK, so that’s one of those traumas that a person experiences … and to take that choice away from that person who had such a traumatic act committed against them, to be left with the residue of that person, if you will, to have to bring that child into this world and to be reminded of that every single day,” she said.

“Some people can do that, you know, some people can, but some can’t,” Figures added.

In other words, the Democrat lawmaker believes victims of rape should be able to have their unborn children murdered because raising those children might remind them of that rape.

Now, it should go without saying that rape victims, especially those who are impregnated by their rapists, deserve sympathy and love.

Do you think abortion is murder?

That being said, it’s not acceptable to murder unborn babies, even if they might remind rape victims of a traumatic experience.

Unborn children are human beings created in the image of God, no matter how they were conceived. For that reason, they deserve to live.

The simple truth of the matter is that two wrongs do not make a right.

Ex-boyfriends and girlfriends might remind some people of abuse and trauma, but it’s not OK to murder them.

A manager might remind someone of sexual harassment, but that doesn’t mean it’s OK to kill that manager.

No matter the circumstances of a child’s birth, killing it is never the answer.

Figures isn’t the only Alabama lawmaker to make a sickening argument during the debate over Alabama’s new pro-life law.

In the midst of the Alabama House’s debate over the issue, a Democrat representative explained why he believes it’s perfectly fine to murder some unborn babies.

“Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later,” Alabama state Rep. John Rogers said. “You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or you kill them later.”

Both Rogers and Figures fail to acknowledge the fact that unborn babies are human beings who deserve the same rights that every other human has.

Two wrongs don’t make a right — it’s never OK to murder someone, even if they remind you of a horrific trauma.
