OneNewsNow reports that a representative of the American Family Association was snubbed at a Target shareholders meeting Wednesday when he attempted to share the group’s concerns about the retail giant’s policy allowing transgender individuals to use the bathroom or fitting room of their choice.
AFA President Tim Wildmon said in an email to supporters last week that the group would be taking its message directly to the company’s board of directors and shareholders at the meeting in California. AFA is concerned that sexual predators may take advantage of Target’s new policy, putting women and children at risk.
AFA launched a petition calling for a boycott of Target, which has over 1.3 million signatures.

OneNewsNow reported that AFA representative Abraham Hamilton III was clearly snubbed by officials of Target when he questioned the policy.
Hamilton said Target’s response to the concerns and boycott was, “We don’t care what you have to say. We don’t care what the American Family Association represents. We don’t care what those people who signed your petition represent. We are committed to the complete overhaul of American society as it pertains to sex.”
When he asked if Target had performed a cost-benefit analysis before implementing the controversial policy change, Hamilton said the company’s answer was, “No, we believe it’s the best thing for our company, so we’re going to do it.”

Hamilton, who is the public policy analyst for AFA, stated that although shareholders with similar concerns were at the meeting, the corporation was unwilling to change the policy. As a result, Hamilton said the boycott will continue, with efforts to increase in the near future.
“Father’s Day is right around the corner … and even back-to-school efforts,” he told OneNewsNow. “So we plan to increase and expand our boycott effort because Target has put us in an unenviable position by saying, ‘We don’t care what you think’ — so we’re going to have to make them care what we think.”
