Antifa Accused of Attacking Small Conservative Group After Portland Police Reportedly Abandon Them

Share

In the midst of a heated Portland, Oregon, rally, police allegedly abandoned a small conservative group to the clutches of antifa punks.

The scene, captured by journalist Andy Ngo, first shows Portland police in riot gear separating a conservative group from the black-clad leftist mob. The group was separated from the main crowd, according to Ngo.

WARNING: The following videos tweeted by Andy Ngo contain strong language. Viewer discretion advised.

According to Ngo’s tweets, the police allegedly abandoned the small group despite the mob presence.

Considering how amped up the black-clad antifa protesters were, this does not appear to be a safe or smart move.

Sure enough, Ngo said the anti-fascist group began throwing things at these conservatives. A man holding an American flag who was safe behind the police officers before they left soon found punks directly targeting him.

According to Ngo, attackers from the leftist group began throwing objects at the flag-holding man’s head.

The attack comes as small incidents of violence are being reported all across the city.

Ngo recorded several other instances of the violent leftist group attacking people.

Antifa apparently used pepper spray on one independent journalist, who begged for water to ease the burning. He wasn’t offered any, despite the fact that several black-clad leftists are carrying water in the video.

Unfortunately, attacking their political opponents is nothing new for antifa. Not even the media is safe. Attacks range from pepper spray, seen in the above video, to the brutal assault that left Andy Ngo needing a hospital in June.

Although every Portland police officer was scheduled to work on Saturday without exception, the numbers at the rally were likely considerably lower considering staffing and patrol needs across the rest of the city.

To make matters more complicated, not only were armed protesters reported, but the Portland police also said that there are troublemakers trying to infiltrate groups on both sides.

While no great outbursts of violence have been reported, tensions were high.

It appears that cooler heads prevailed in many places despite the actions of a few bad apples. While Portland police may have abandoned one small group, it looks like their work elsewhere has kept any real violence from erupting at the rally.
