Facebook Co-Founder's Wife Bankrolling Fake News Promoter Shaun King's Project
Despite assertions from progressive leftists that their views are mainstream, they have been widely rejected at the ballot box by Americans over the years former President Barack Obama held office, culminating in failed Democrat candidate Hillary Clinton’s defeat in 2016.
Republicans gained countless seats at the federal, state and local level across the country, but it appears some on the left are adopting the right’s tactics and shifting their focus toward local elections as well, and they have some big money backing the effort.
According to the Washington Free Beacon, race-baiting anti-police activist Shaun King has formed a political action committee that is seeking to support left-wing candidates in local district attorney races across the nation.
The purpose of the effort is to “fight structural racism” by electing progressive prosecutors who could essentially overhaul the criminal justice system in a left-leaning manner from the inside.
King’s group, the Real Justice PAC, was established on Feb. 7, 2017, according to a filing with the Federal Election Commission.
Additional FEC filings showed that two days later, the brand new PAC received nearly two-thirds of a million dollars in a single contribution of $653,480, and the group has received more than $400,000 in additional funds from other contributors since that time.
That massive initial sum came from San Francisco resident Cari Tuna — the wife of Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz
She was quite generous with her money toward leftist groups during the 2016 campaign season.
Tuna reportedly gave $2.5 million to an environmentalist group known as the League of Conservation Voters Victory Fund, as well as the same amount to a labor union PAC known as For Our Future.
She also contributed $1.25 million to MoveOn.org’s PAC and more than $416,000 to Clinton’s Hillary Victory Fund, not to mention tens of thousands of dollars in contributions to the Democratic Congressional Candidate Committee and Democratic National Committee.
Moskovitz, who left Facebook in 2008 to pursue other ventures, and Tuna combined reportedly donated roughly $27 million to various Democrat and liberal causes and groups throughout the 2016 cycle with an express, but ultimately futile, intent to defeat Donald Trump.
It is noteworthy that King is not alone in this effort to target and influence local district attorney races by the left, as King’s Real Justice PAC appears to be working alongside a group formed by leftist billionaire George Soros known as the California Justice and Public Safety Committee PAC.
A separate report from the Free Beacon noted that Soros had donated more than $1.5 million into that PAC with a purpose of electing far-left progressive Genevieve Jones-Wright to be the district attorney of San Diego County. He has also been funding PACs with similar goals in other areas of the country.
Naturally, King’s PAC is supporting that same progressive candidate in San Diego.
It is no coincidence that these PACs and other leftist groups have seen such an abundance of funding from ultra-rich progressives like Tuna and Moskovitz, just as it is no coincidence that social media platforms like Facebook have increasingly displayed their liberal bias in censoring conservatives.
While those who run social media platforms like Facebook like to claim that they have no overt bias and are providing an open platform for conservatives and liberals alike, anybody who has used those platforms knows their assertions are untrue.
The fact that so much money was contributed solely to leftist causes and groups by just this one couple who are incredibly influential in the tech industry should go to show just how biased the bulk of that industry, and the platforms that emanate from it, truly are when it comes to politics.
