Beth Chapman of 'Dog the Bounty Hunter' Has Passed Away at Age 51

Share

“Dog the Bounty Hunter” star Beth Chapman has passed away after battling throat and lung cancer.

Beth and her husband Duane “Dog” Chapman have been fan favorites ever since their debut on the A&E show, “Dog the Bounty Hunter.” The show aired from 2004 to 2012.

Fans continued to follow the rough ‘n’ tumble couple even after the show stopped airing, including the couple’s roller coaster of a fight with cancer.

Beth was first diagnosed with stage 2 throat cancer in 2017.

After undergoing surgery to remove her plum-sized tumor and rigorous chemotherapy treatments, the Chapmans were able to tell their fans that she had been declared cancer-free in November 2018.

“There is a God. This could be a miracle. This could be a healing,” Duane said in an A&E special, “Dog & Beth: Fight of Their Lives.”

Sadly, the cancer returned with a vengeance. It not only appeared in Beth’s throat again but also in her lungs.

“My baby has cancer and she is fighting like hell,” Duane told DailyMailTV in March 2019. “I have cried a lot over this because Beth is my everything.”

Due to the way her body reacted to chemotherapy in the past she decided to seek more natural treatments for her stage four lung cancer.

“She has told me repeatedly that if these are her last days on earth she wants to spend every moment with me on the hunt, living life to the fullest and enjoying the time we have left together,” Duane shared a March 2019 interview.

Then on Sunday, April 7, 2019, Duane’s official Facebook page shared a family statement: “Beth was hospitalized Saturday due to an accumulation of fluid in her lungs. Doctors performed an emergency procedure to alleviate pressure that had built up. She is now at home resting with her husband.”

The family also asked for continued prayers as she recovered from the emergency surgery.

On Saturday, June 22, Beth was rushed to the ICU at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu after having difficulty breathing; she was placed in a medically-induced coma so she could receive further treatment.

“Please say your prayers for Beth right now thank you love you,” Duane asked fans in a tweet the following day.

After her two year fight, Beth Chapman passed away on June 26, 2019. She was 51 years old.

The Chapman family has asked for respect as they grieve and process the heartbreaking news. Our prayers are with them as they do so.
