Betrayal: Pelosi Informs Illegals How They Can Avoid Deportation

Share

President Donald Trump has spent significant time and energy addressing the crisis of illegal immigration, but has been obstructed at every turn by congressional Democrats and left-leaning judges in the federal court system.

With Democrats refusing to even discuss a compromise on immigration, Trump is now prepared to send Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to locate and apprehend known illegal aliens with removal orders.

Democrats in Congress and their allies in the establishment media continue to compare the proposed ICE raids to Nazis rounding up innocent Jews during the Holocaust.

House Democrats are even going out of their way to tip off illegal aliens about the impending raids, offering advice on how to avoid being apprehended and deported, according to National Review.

During her weekly press conference on Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters, “An ICE deportation warrant is not the same as a search warrant. If that is the only document ICE brings to a home raid, agents do not have the legal right to enter a home.”

“If ICE agents don’t have a warrant signed by a judge, a person may refuse to open the door and let them in,” Pelosi added, failing to note that deportation warrants have indeed been signed by a federal immigration judge.

Pelosi’s remarks to the media came after the speaker held a closed-door meeting Thursday morning with top Democratic leaders in the House about the same issue.

Politico reported that Pelosi had instructed her fellow Democrats to help spread information in their home districts about the basic rights that illegal aliens enjoy, part of an ongoing “know your rights” campaign the party has mounted in an effort to stymie the Trump administration’s attempt to solve the immigration crisis.

Pelosi also announced her intention to contact various religious leaders in hopes they would pressure the administration to take a more compassionate approach and avoid conducting the raids.

The speaker told reporters that she did the same a few weeks ago when the Trump administration first announced the raids, crediting unnamed evangelical leaders with convincing the president to delay the raids.

When Trump initially called off the raids scheduled to take place in a dozen major U.S. cities, citing a phone call he received from Pelosi pleading for him to wait, he gave Congress two additional weeks to try to work out a legislative deal that would render the raids a moot point.

Rather than tackle the problem, however, Congress dithered as usual. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy lamented the majority’s inaction, as National Review reported.

Do you think Democrats care more about illegal aliens than they do about American citizens?

“Tell me one thing that this majority has done in the amount of time that the speaker called the president and asked him to delay it? Has there been a hearing? Has there been a bill produced? Have we asked to stay over a weekend and solve this problem?” McCarthy said.

“I think if the president actually saw the House actually taking action, he probably would delay even further to make sure the problem gets solved,” he added. “[Pelosi] asked the president to delay it and he said he would. It is the speaker who is causing this problem.”

The effort by Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues to undermine ICE only makes it harder for federal law enforcement agents to do their jobs. It’s also making America less safe.

Pelosi and the House Democrats have only proven to the American people once again that they side with illegal aliens over citizens and have no compunction about helping criminals avoid facing legal consequences.
