Bin Laden's Son Marries Daughter of 9/11 Lead Hijacker

Share

Sometimes when people marry, they really deserve each other.

That’s never been truer than the marriage between Hamza bin Laden and the daughter of the lead hijacker in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as reported by the U.K. Guardian.

As Fox News’ Katherine Lam noted, this is truly a “match made in Hell.”

Hamza is the son of Osama bin Laden by one of bin Laden’s three surviving wives. He has previously said that he wants to avenge his father’s death.

Hamza is reportedly married to the daughter of Mohammed Atta. He was the Egyptian national who led the 9/11 hijackers and himself hijacked the first plane that flew into the World Trade Center.

Just lovely people all around.

“We have heard (Hamza bin Laden) has married the daughter of Mohammed Atta,” Ahmad al-Attas, Hamza’s half-brother confirmed to the Guardian.

Al-Attas also confirmed that the family is currently unsure of his half-brother’s whereabouts.

“We’re not sure where he is, but it could be Afghanistan,” he said.

Do you think the war against terror will ever end?

No further details were given to the Guardian regarding the marriage, however. That further muddies up an already somewhat confusing situation.

Atta’s life was, and still mostly is, shrouded in mystery. According to reports, Atta was never mentioned to have been married. This pending marriage is also the first-ever mention about any of his children. In fact, some accounts of Atta’s life painted him as an avowed virgin, according to the Guardian.

Another of Hamza’s half-brothers, Hassan al-Attas, pleaded for Hamza to rethink his direction.

“When we thought everyone was over this, next thing I knew was Hamza (was) saying, ‘I am going to avenge my father,’” said Hassan al-Attas. “I don’t want to go through that again.

“If Hamza was in front of me now, I would tell him: ‘God guide you. Think twice about what you are doing. Don’t retake the steps of your father. You are entering really negative and horrible parts of your soul.’”

Hamza’s half-brothers and family claim they had no had any contact with Osama bin Laden between 1999 through his death in 2011. They also claim that they have had no contact with Hamza.

In January 2017, the United States officially designated Hamza bin Laden as a terrorist. He is currently an Al Queda leader under Osama’s former deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri, according to the Guardian.
