Border Patrol That Dems Hate Rescues 6-Year Old Smugglers Left in Desert

Liberals and their media allies have demagogued the issue of illegal immigrant families being temporarily separated to an incredible extent over the past few weeks, really unlike any other issue they have harangued the masses about previously.

In fact, one could easily assume — based on hyperbolic media coverage — that President Donald Trump, his family and members of his administration were personally standing at the border in order to physically rip sobbing children from the arms of their innocent parents as soon as they set foot in this country, only to throw them into “concentration camps” where they will suffer and be forgotten about until they die, or something.

Of course, anyone with common sense knows that this portrayal of the situation is as far from the truth as could be. The administration has attempted to push back by noting that the overwhelming majority of illegal immigrant children held in U.S. custody are those who arrived at the border unaccompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and that those who do arrive with their parents are typically reunited once the parents have been processed and prosecuted for their crimes.

As an example of the sort of unaccompanied alien children discovered and taken into custody on a near daily basis by the Border Patrol comes a heartbreaking story of a young boy who appeared to have been abandoned by a smuggler just inside U.S. territory, according to The Daily Wire.

Agents out on a routine patrol of their sector on Saturday spotted the 6-year-old boy from Costa Rica who was hunkered down by himself on the side of a dirt road with nothing but the clothes on his back and a small, dirty backpack.

According to a media release from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency, “Agents discovered the child west of Lukeville, Arizona, and just north of the border, in temperatures over 100 degrees.”

“The child told agents he was dropped off by his uncle and that Border Patrol would pick him up. He added that he was on his way to see his mother in the U.S.,” the release from CBP noted, and added that the child was transported to Tucson to be processed as an unaccompanied minor.

“This incident highlights the dangers faced by migrants at the hands of smugglers. Children, in particular, are extremely vulnerable, not only to exploitation but also to the elements in the environment,” the CBP release stated.

Do you blame the parents of children apprehended at the border for placing them in a dangerous situation?

The media release further noted that “Arizona’s desert is a merciless environment for those unprepared for its remote, harsh terrain and unpredictable weather,” an unpleasant reality often ignored by those on the left who call for open borders and urge illegal immigrants to flood across in untold numbers.

The Daily Wire pointed out that, in truth, the “uncle” who abandoned the young boy near the border was most likely a smuggler or trafficker, a “coyote” who transports illegal immigrants across the border for a rather steep fee of thousands of dollars per head.

It was further noted that of the estimated 13,000 illegal immigrant children currently held in U.S. custody, roughly 11,000 arrived at the border without a parent or guardian, meaning they weren’t “ripped away” from their parents by heartless border agents (or Trump himself).

Rather, those kids were either abandoned by their parents and guardians or smugglers once inside the U.S., or, worse yet, sent on the incredibly dangerous journey across the border by themselves.

Now consider for a moment how a growing number of voices on the left — including some prominent elected Democrats — have called for the abolition of our nation’s borders and those who enforce it, chiefly Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the Border Patrol.

What would have happened to that young boy left abandoned near the border in extreme heat and harsh conditions if Border Patrol agents hadn’t fortuitously come along and found him when they did? Sadly, we can surmise the most likely result, and it wouldn’t be good.

Unfortunately, scenes like the one above play out on or near the border on a near-daily basis.

It isn’t Trump or anyone associated with him that has separated those children from their parents, but the children’s parents themselves and the coyote smugglers seeking to exploit the situation for a profit.

Democrats, meanwhile, seek to exploit the situation for outraged votes and would rather prolong and worsen the situation than solve it — for political expediency.
