Browns player promises big gift to fans if Cavs win NBA Finals
If the Cleveland Cavaliers end up defeating the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals, one NFL star might lose millions of dollars.
Cleveland Browns safety Damarious Randall, who was acquired from Green Bay this offseason, has made it clear that he does not want the Cavaliers to win. He tweeted Sunday that he’s looking forward to seeing Warriors star Stephen Curry “light that b—- up” in Games 3 and 4, when he will be in attendance.
The best-of-seven series has yet to begin, but oddsmakers are overwhelmingly favoring Golden State to defeat Cleveland, who, outside of LeBron James, is really not a good team.
Randall, for his part, is confident that Golden State will prevail.
Maybe a little too confident.
In a Friday tweet, he promised everyone who retweeted his post a free jersey if Cleveland ends up winning the championship.

Assuming he’s serious, Randall is making a pretty big gamble. As noted by Cleveland.com, Randall recently signed a four-year, $7.9 million contract with the Browns, so while he’s certainly not hurting for cash, he’s also not fabulously wealthy.
According to ESPN, the average jersey goes for $99.99 on the NFL Shop. Considering that more than 129,000 people have retweeted his post, Randall would be on the hook for $12.9 million worth of jerseys if the Cavaliers do indeed pull off the upset.
At least one fan thought there was no way Randall was being serious, tweeting, “Zero chance he delivers.”

Randall may end up ruing the day he made this pledge.
Cleveland fans are long-suffering, but they’re also very passionate, so if the Cavaliers do the improbable, you can bet fans won’t let Randall forget about the promise he made.
The Cavaliers will take on Golden State in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.
