Liberal comedian Chelsea Handler makes no secret of her distaste for all things conservative. Handler often takes to Twitter to rail against President Donald Trump and the Republican Party, and to express her support for liberal causes like abortion.
Her weekly Netflix talk show is often no different. Her latest episode, though, received particular criticism for a vicious tirade aimed at White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, in which Handler called Sanders a “harlot” with “whore lipstick all over her face.”
In the episode, which was released Friday, Handler interviewed lawyer Lanny Davis, who used to work for former President Bill Clinton.

A discussion on trying to influence public opinion by putting a “spin” on things led the two to talk about the Trump administration.
“When somebody from the Trump White House stands at the lectern and tells us that black is white … ” Davis said, before Handler cut him off.
“That harlot that they’re dressing up and trolloping out every day?” the comedian asked, referring to Sanders.

“I mean, one day she has no makeup on at all, the next she’s got like 6-foot long eyelashes, and she’s got cleavage, and summer whore lipstick all over her face. Can you believe what they’ve turned her into? A proper trollop,” she continued.
Davis laughed, then clarified what he meant.
“I’m referring to the fact that she tells me that something that I see is dark blue is actually white,” he said, seeming to imply that Sanders lies to reporters and the American public.
Many Twitter users were disgusted by Handler’s personal attack on Sanders.

It’s not the first time Handler has used her Netflix show to make fun of Sanders.
In August, Sanders read to reporters a letter to Trump from a 9-year-old boy nicknamed “Pickle,” who asked the president, “Can we be friends?”

In response, comedian Fortune Feimster came on Handler’s show dressed like Sanders to read a letter from “a real little boy who loves our president” named “Cucumber.”
Handler laughed as Feimster read the letter in a tone of voice meant to mock the way Sanders talks.
Handler’s show will be ending after its current second season is done airing, but that doesn’t mean the hate directed at Sanders will stop.

In addition to Handler, mainstream media outlets frequently direct harsh and often personal attacks at Sanders.
Last month, for example, Los Angeles Times columnist David Horsey remarked on Sanders’ appearance, writing that she “looks more like a slightly chunky soccer mom who organizes snacks for the kids’ games.”
Horsey later apologized for the words he used to describe Sanders.
