CNN Panel Launches All-Out Attack on Kayne, Calls Him 'Token Negro' and 'Attention Whore'

Turns out that it’s cool to use racial terms to belittle someone as long as he’s a Trump supporter.

On “CNN Tonight” Tuesday, Don Lemon’s panel of commentators scorned Kanye West ahead of his Thursday meeting with President Donald Trump.

“Kanye West is what happens when negroes don’t read,” panelist Bakari Sellers said. He added that since Kanye is a supporter of the president, Trump now has “somebody who can stand with him and take pictures.”

Host Don Lemon and a fellow panelist laughed at this, apparently in agreement.

West has been a vocal fan of Trump, which I guess means it’s fair game to talk about him however you want with zero consequences.

What’s most upsetting is the way Sellers wanted to reduce West to someone who doesn’t have any agency himself, and who will merely pose for pictures when asked. Think about how hard Republicans would be slammed if they talked about a black celebrity or politician in this intolerant way.

Heck, think about how hard they’d get slammed if it was even implied, as happened in the whole Omarosa fiasco where the former White House aide claimed that Trump once said the n-word (To which the President responded that he’s never even had that word in his vocabulary).

“Listen, black folks are about to trade Kanye West in the racial draft, okay,” CNN commentator Tara Setmayer said during the segment, referring to a 2004 Dave Chappelle satirical skit in which representatives of ethnic groups meet to claim racially ambiguous celebrities.

Do you think the right would get away with this?

“They’ve had it with him. And he’s an attention whore like the President.  He’s all of a sudden now the model spokesperson, he’s the token negro of the Trump administration,” she continued. “This is ridiculous and no one should be taking Kanye West seriously.”

If West was bashing Trump the way every other adored celebrity does, would we be urged not to take him seriously? Would he be called ridiculous?

Tara Setmayer later defended her words on Twitter, writing that West is “self loathing, not free thinking.”

It seems that black celebrities must uphold the liberal media’s views or else be attacked for not being black enough. CNN and other leftist media simply won’t allow blacks any room to hold diverse political opinions.

Kanye West brought this up a couple weeks ago during the end of the season premiere episode of SNL, which he hosted.

In a segment, which was cut out from the episode, Kanye West sang, “I wanna cry right now. Black man in America, you’re supposed to keep what you feel inside right now. And the liberals bully you and tell you what you can and cannot wear, where you and they can’t not stare.”

This referred to West’s donning a Make America Great Again hat, for which he was booed onstage.

“If you want the world to move forward, try love,” West said.

“Thank ya’ll for giving me this platform. I know some of ya’ll don’t agree … 90 percent of news are liberal,” he continued during his wrap-up.  “90 percent of TV, LA, New York, writers, rappers, musicians. So it’s easy to make it seem like it’s so one-sided.”

And now just a short while later, CNN was more than happy to prove his point.
