Cops Find Sick 'How-To' Guide After Arresting Raging Anti-Semite

Share

An Irvine, California man could be facing a lot of jail time after police found, among other anti-Semitic and hate group materials, a “how-to” guide to kill a Jewish individual.

KCBS-TV reports that Nicholas Rose, 26, was arrested after a tip from a family member.

“Officials said on or about April 16, 2018, Rose told a family member that he wanted to kill people while making threats against Jewish people,” KCBS reported.

“The family member contacted the Orange Police Department.”

When the police went to the home where Rose was renting a room, they found a trove of appalling ephemera that proved Rose wasn’t just making an idle threat.

Among the things found by police was anti-Semitic literature, .22 ammunition, a “kill list” of Jewish individuals in the community and — most horrifying — a how-to guide he had titled “Killing My First Jew.”

Rose had also planned to target Russian and Greek Orthodox churches because, according to police, they had close links to the Jewish faith and “were sympathetic to the Jewish cause.”

“Officials said Rose also possessed papers referencing at least one church and one synagogue in Lake Forest, less than five miles from where he was living,” CBS reported.

Do you think anti-Semitism is a growing problem?

Rose, who works as a teacher of English as a second language, was arrested at the scene.

He was officially arraigned in court on Thursday and faces charges of violation of civil rights with a sentencing enhancement due to the alleged planned act being a hate crime.

The charges carry a sentence of six years and six months.

While maximum sentences are often rare, if Rose did what he stands accused of, I have no doubt he will be spending every day of that sentence in the pen.

In the meanwhile, police are searching Rose’s computers to see if he was linked with any other larger hate group.

Thankfully, a family member intervened in time to stop a horrible tragedy from occurring. This is the ideal situation — police following up on a tip and making sure nothing happened.

However, this represents a troubling trend: the rise of anti-Semitism globally, particularly when it comes to Israel.

In Europe, we’ve seen a dramatic rise in anti-Semitism, particularly from the political left, in recent years. In the United Kingdom, Jeremy Corbyn — the leader of the Labour Party and a man who came surprisingly close to being the country’s prime minister — was discovered to be a member of not one but two Facebook groups where anti-Semetic content was shared regularly.

Many Jews are leaving France because of anti-Semitism, Israeli officials say. In the rest of the world, the situation is worse. Just look at the United Nations, which seems obsessed with destroying the Jewish state.

Of course, every American is innocent until proven guilty. However, if Rose is guilty of the reprehensible things he’s accused of, this is one instance where locking him in jail and throwing away the key almost seems too good. Yet, we must remember he represents part of a scary trend we’re seeing played out the world over.
