'Criminal Cartel': Journalist Andy Ngo Reveals Antifa's Chilling Agenda, Violent Revolution

Share

Journalist Andy Ngo knows a few things about antifa — after all, he witnessed the group’s violent side up close and personal not long ago. Back in June, he was assaulted by thugs linked to the radical far-left group, and now he’s sounding the alarm about the organization’s intentions for America.

The conservative writer was injured in Portland, Oregon while reporting on a clash between antifa and fringe groups on the right. Dramatic photos shared by Ngo from the hospital showed his face bloodied and bruised.

But he now says that the deceptively-named “anti-fascist” group which attacked him is just getting warmed up.

“[I]n addition to the street hooliganism that we see over and over on the streets of America, this movement also has a political ideology that is agitating for a violent political revolution,” Ngo said during his Monday appearance on “Fox & Friends.”

He’s one of many voices who is encouraging President Donald Trump to designate antifa as a terrorist organization, saying that it will allow law enforcement to round up one of the biggest troublemakers currently involved in politically-motivated violence.

“This will provide a framework for local authorities and, especially, federal authorities to start investigating this criminal cartel for the street thugs that they are,” Ngo said.

Should "antifa" be classified as a terrorist group?

Trump himself said on Saturday that he was looking into the issue, calling the far-left group “gutless radical left wack jobs.”

“Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others),” the president tweeted. “Would make it easier for police to do their job!”

Republican Senators Bill Cassidy and Ted Cruz have already introduced legislation to this effect, although it’s unclear how much support this has in Congress. The push to label antifa as a terrorist group came shortly after the radical organization was once again in the news for its connection to violence.

“A 69-year-old armed man was killed last week by Washington state police as he attacked a local Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” Fox News reported. “The attacker had sent a manifesto to friends the day before the assault in which he wrote ‘I am Antifa.'”

For his part, Ngo told “Fox & Friends” that he wasn’t very confident about his attackers being brought to justice in one of the most progressive cities in America.

“I don’t want to be cynical about the police investigation but this has been a pattern of incidents of antifa violence in this city that never results in arrests or charges,” he said.

“Portland’s government system is odd … our mayor is also our police commissioner and he’s up for re-election in a city that is mostly pro-antifa and anti-police so you can imagine the variables that are causing what we are seeing now in Portland,” Ngo added.

The Quillette contributor added that antifa members’ tactic of covering their faces during street clashes seems to confirm that they know full well what they’re doing.

“It’s because they know they’re involved in a criminal conspiracy to commit violence against citizens and properties,” he said.

If Ngo is right and antifa is intent on a street-level leftist revolution throughout America, then the time is long passed to take this threat seriously. It’s simply appalling that this type of thug violence is taking place in 2019, with arrests so rare even in the age of smartphone video and social networks.

Acts of violence cannot be tolerated on our streets. Politically-motivated attacks meet the definition of terrorism, and the fact that it’s taken this long for authorities to notice what is going on is jaw-dropping.
