Protests and riots have once again swept the United States as a result of two police shootings that liberals have been quick to claim were motivated by racism and police brutality.
During these times, liberals often like to point to statistics that show that black people to be likely to be killed by police and that police kill unarmed black men more than men of any other race.
As with most “facts” used by liberals, there are some serious errors in the facts they use to rile people up and and cause them to start looting their local Walmarts.

Heather MacDonald, author of the book “The War on Cops,” detailed five ways that liberals have distorted the facts to fit their narrative, the Controversial Times reported.
1) Liberals often cite the statistic that despite being only 13 percent of the population, 26 percent of police shootings involve blacks. According to MacDonald, blacks accounted for a vast majority of the crime in a place like New York City, which would explain why they were involved in police shootings more than other races.
“(Blacks) commit 75 percent of all shootings, 70 percent of all robberies, and 66 percent of all violent crime,” MacDonald wrote, discussing New York City, where African-Americans make up 23 percent of the population.

2) Whites and Hispanics were actually more likely to die in police shootings than blacks. While only 4 percent of blacks who died in homicides were killed by police, 12 percent of whites and Hispanics who died in homicides were killed by police.
This can be explained by places like Chicago and Detroit where blacks kill each other in disproportionate numbers, often in gang-related violence — yet liberals rarely even mention these killings.
3) Liberals like to throw the term “unarmed” around, but that is very misleading. In several cases in which the victim was “unarmed,” they had in fact been trying to take an officer’s gun, were otherwise assaulting the officer involved in the shooting, or were simply an innocent bystander caught in crossfire.
4) Black and Hispanic officers were actually more likely to discharge their weapons than white officers. In fact, the officer involved in the fatal shooting in Charlotte, North Carolina, was African-American — another fact largely ignored by the race baiters.
5) FBI data showed that 40 percent of cop killers were black. MacDonald claimed that a cop was 18.5 times more likely to be gunned down by an African-American than an unarmed African-American by a cop.

While there is no doubt that some police shootings are not justified, using the actions of a few to paint an entire profession as racist without even looking at the correct statistics is just plain wrong.
Liberals needs to take a minute and get their facts straight before they start playing the blame game.
