Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was quick to condemn the shooting which targeted Republican congressmen at a baseball a practice in Alexandria, Virginia on Wednesday morning. After all, the alleged shooter James T. Hodgkinson was a volunteer for Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign, and based on his internet presence was extremely anti-Republican.
“I am sickened by this despicable act,” Sanders said. “Let me be as clear as I can be. Violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms.”
Despite Sanders’ strong words, he shared a video on Twitter just 48 hours prior to the shooting that can only be described as a scare tactic.

The video Sanders shared was accompanied by a tweet which read, “Why won’t Republicans hold hearings on their health care bill? Maybe they know Americans will ask why they take health care from millions.”
