Beto Blames Trump for El Paso Shooting; Candace Owens Fires Back at Left's Double Standard

Share

Like a tarnished penny, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke is back in circulation.

The former Texas representative, who lags so far behind in the polls that he needs binoculars to see inexplicable front-runner Joe Biden, is popping off about President Donald Trump being a “white nationalist.”

Weeks ago, Beto had painted himself into a corner and was politics’ version of football’s Mr. Irrelevant (the last man chosen in the NFL’s annual draft of college players).

What’s more, during this summer’s two Democratic debates, O’Rourke came across more like the Invisible Man than a serious contender to take over the Oval Office.

He couldn’t resist pointing fingers and feigning anger about gun owners and Trump’s “racist” speeches mere hours after the weekend’s mass shootings in Dayton, Ohio, and El Paso, Texas.

It’s as if O’Rourke is still trying to justify his regrettable appearance on a cover of Vanity Fair, which quoted the man as saying he was “born” to be president of the United States.

Born to be mild is more like it. Except when he shamelessly refers to Trump as racist and compares our commander in chief’s remarks to those of the Third Reich.

Candace Owens, among countless others, has had enough of O’Rourke spewing accusations and assigning labels to Trump and his supporters.

The conservative commentator punched back via Twitter, telling off the Democratic hopeful and bursting the bubble of his ultimate fantasy: “Rest assure[d], you will never be President.”

“The Ohio shooter was a self-described socialist and Elizabeth Warren fan. Do we blame @AOC and her squad?” Owens wrote. “No – we do not. We don’t blame anyone but the shooter.”

She said Beto is a “coward for blaming Trump supporters for El Paso.”

It’s satisfying and reassuring to see Owens and others take a stand against irresponsible Democrats.

If any politician or would-be president is acting “dangerously,” it’s O’Rourke, who is so obsessed with pandering for potential U.S. votes that he has campaigned — wait for it — in Mexico.

Within hours of 20 individuals being fatally shot and dozens wounded by two mentally unstable gunmen, O’Rourke felt the need to lash out again our president, the Second Amendment and Republicans.

Do you agree with Candace Owens' tweet about Beto O'Rourke?

The suddenly pervasive Democratic candidate couldn’t hold his verbal fire out of respect for the victims and loved ones.

Why use his public sounding board at such a vulnerable time to cause more division by bashing Trump about the El Paso gunman, who was reportedly a white supremacist?

I suppose O’Rourke turned a deaf ear and blind eye to reports that the Dayton shooter was a socialist who backed Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

O’Rourke is striving to position himself as a viable challenger for 2020, but you can Beto your bottom dollar that he’s already spent.
