Though they most certainly aren’t “contained” as President Barack Obama and the sycophants in his administration would have us believe, the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria is indeed facing a pushback of sorts from the coalition aligned against them.
One major theater of that fight recently has been the area around the Syrian metropolis of Aleppo, where coalition forces have been working to uproot Islamic State group defensive fighting positions and ambush points in the towns surrounding the vital city.
Coalition airstrikes have had their effects. Video of one such strike on the town of Manbij was recently made public, and it showed the destruction of a massive complex of grain silos and other buildings by joint direct attack munitions, also known as JDAMs.
In the video, shot from a distance and repeated in slow motion, chirping birds can be heard suddenly falling silent as six bombs struck the complex, causing a tremendous roar as it was reduced to little more than a pile of smoking rubble.
It was not immediately clear whether the grain silos were still being used to store food for the remnants of the local population who have not yet fled as refugees after years of civil war and on-going strife.
However, judging by the bombed-out appearance of the other buildings in the sprawling complex and surrounding area, the silos and other buildings had likely already been re-purposed by the militant jihadists to house fighters, snipers and supplies, serving as fighting positions instead of civilian food storage.
Hopefully, this airstrike succeeded in clearing out an Islamic State group stronghold that was preventing the coalition forces on the ground, largely made up of various anti-Assad regime Syrian rebels and Kurdish nationalists, from moving around and through this important region of northern Syria.
Please share this on Facebook and Twitter so others can witness the destructive power being rained down on the Islamic State group in Syria, wherever they may be hiding.
