BLM-inspired protests broke out along the streets at Eastern Michigan University this week after students noticed that someone had written racist graffiti in one of the school’s dormitory halls.
During one of these protests, a lone civilian in a black SUV chose to fearlessly pummel through the crowd, possibly injuring some protesters along the way.
It was a brutal scene, but it was one wrought by the protesters own actions.
Watch a video recording of what happened below:
We of course do not condone any sort of violent behavior or encouragement to violence, but we will note that whoever might have been hurt by the SUV could have avoided being hit by simply choosing not to block traffic that day — especially over something so trivial.
“The graffiti included ‘KKK’ in red, white and blue in addition to an offensive phrase containing a racial epithet,” reported USA Today. “It was quickly removed upon discovery.”

So because one fool chose to vandalize a dormitory hall with some foul words that were quickly removed upon discovery, the students at EMU felt the need to block traffic and interfere in the lives of the nearly 20,000 men and women who live in Ypsilanti?
It made no sense, especially given the litany of other far more pertinent issues that plague minority communities, including but not limited to abortion, crime and unemployment.
We used to say that sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm you.
But standing in the middle of the road and preventing other people from living their lives — well, that might just get you run over by a hulking SUV.
That’s just common sense.
