Breaking: Minaj Says Kanye Confirmed to Her That He Is Now a 'Born-Again Christian'
It’s hard to remember a time when Kanye West wasn’t in the news in some way, shape or form.
The nature of those news stories, however, has changed over the years.
Gone is the Kanye who spawned a million cat memes by bombing Taylor Swift’s Video Music Awards acceptance speech in 2009.
In his place, we’ve seen emerge a Trump-supporting, Democrat-bashing cult icon, who spends part of his time advocating for reforms to prison policies that Democrats once pushed.
He also dabbles in trying to shake awake minorities, who he has implied are being figuratively enslaved by liberal politicians.
Kanye’s evolution, however, has not stopped there.
According to singer Nicki Minaj, Kanye told her directly that he has turned to Christ.
“I was just with Kanye, and he told me he’s a born-again Christian now,” Minaj said this week on her Apple Music program “Queen Radio,” according to Fox News.
Stories of celebrities turning to Christianity appear frequently on social media, often to be quickly debunked by publicists.
The story of West’s conversion, however, does have plausible underpinnings in the real world.
Kanye has been hosting “Sunday Services” featuring pastors like Rich Wilkerson Jr., the minister who married West and Kim Kardashian in 2014.
In April, West hosted a worship service at the massively popular Coachella music festival.
Wilkerson led that service, saying, “this is not a concert, this is not a performance, but rather an old-fashioned worship service of Jesus Christ,” according to Fox.
Minaj said the change in Kanye was palpable, noting she “could see there’s a peace that he has now that just surpasses everything.”
“And that’s what I find God gives you, and I love when I see men that are man enough to embrace God,” she said.
The Western Journal reached out to West for comment, but did not hear back in time for publication of this article.
