Those who buy into the controversial Seth Rich conspiracy theory are hoping a lawsuit filed Wednesday by Washington, D.C., lobbyist and attorney Jack Burkman may ultimately lead to the incarceration of key figures in the Democrat party, including possibly even former President Bill Clinton and his wife, failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Rich died last July in what local police believe to be a botched robbery but what conspiracy theorists claim was a political assassination perpetrated by Democrats, including possibly even the Clintons, designed to stop him from leaking Democrat National Committee emails to the hacker group WikiLeaks.
Despite Rich’s parents having published an op-ed in The Washington Post last month begging conspiracy theorists to “stop politicizing” their son’s murder, Burkman has nevertheless filed a suit against the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department demanding that it release all the information it has thus far collected on the case.

According to Washingtonian magazine, the suit specifically demands that the department “release the medical examiner’s report from Rich’s autopsy, ballistics reports from the crime scene, and any video footage that might exist of the slaying.”
The slain DNC worker’s family has since issued a statement claiming they haven’t endorsed the D.C. lobbyist’s actions.
“The family would like to reiterate that Jack Burkman has no connection to the family, does not represent them or their wishes and that his efforts are completely independent,” said family spokesman Brad Bauman in a statement. “The family remains completely confident in the Metropolitan Police Department’s handling of the case and ability to solve Seth’s murder.”

Interestingly, Burkman’s personal motives for digging into the Rich case differ from those of other conspiracy theorists, as he suspects the DNC employee “was killed by Russian operatives as cover for the Kremlin’s hacking of DNC servers,” as noted by Washingtonian magazine.
Moreover, the D.C. lobbyist maintains he’s performing a favor for the Rich family.
“The release of this crucial material will help bring peace to the victim’s family, and it will help to either confirm or refute the various theories that swirl about this important murder case,” the lawsuit he filed stated, according to The Daily Caller.

Speaking with news station WJLA, Burkman emphatically argued that the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department has mismanaged the case and that it’s his duty to solve it for them.

“They released no new information since October 16, 2016,” he said. “That’s a long time. Why is it left to a private citizen to do what they should be doing. I set up an entire organization and we have interviewed people they haven’t interviewed.”
By an entire organization, he meant The Profiling Project, an “autonomous and independent unit” he formed to lead the vigilante investigation into Rich’s murder.
It’s known for certain that the 27-year-old DNC worker was murdered, but the killer still hasn’t been identified or found, leading many to speculate over why. It doesn’t help that the MPD, which according to The Daily Caller “has a history of revealing surveillance footage to the public pertaining to unsolved criminal investigations,” has released no footage regarding Rich’s case.
Whether or not Burkman’s efforts will prove conspiracy theorists such as him right about the real alleged motives behind Rich’s murder remains unknown, though it’s likely that his suit will please those seeking answers.
