Bridal Shop Forced to Close After Refusing to Service Lesbian Wedding

The left is the most tolerant group of people in the world — until someone politely disagrees with them.

One bridal shop in Pennsylvania just found that out the hard way, after the owners stated that supporting same-sex weddings was against their Christian beliefs.

Instead of respecting that religious belief or simply taking their business elsewhere, “tolerant” militant gay and lesbian activists made a sick move: They harassed and made threats against the shop owners and their families.

According to The Christian Post, a lesbian couple from West Pittston, Pennsylvania, entered W.W. Bridal Boutique earlier this month.

That fact alone isn’t particularly newsworthy, except for one detail. The same-sex couple was reportedly from the town of Bloomsberg, which is an hour away.

Google business listings show significantly more bridal shops in the couple’s home town. Since W.W. Bridal Boutique was already known to militant gays because of a similar controversy in 2014,  it’s more than likely that this couple may have sought out the W.W. Bridal specifically to create a controversy… and that’s exactly what happened.

An employee at the boutique politely informed the lesbian couple that “our faith doesn’t let us believe in [same-sex weddings.]”

Outraged by somebody else’s beliefs, the couple reportedly ranted on Facebook about the shop’s decision.

That’s when the store’s employees, including co-owner Victoria Miller, began feeling unsafe.

Angry phone calls began reaching the owners. A voicemail provided to the media by a pastor and friend of the shop owners revealed the threatening tone of the calls.

“You stupid f****** bigots. We are coming for you and your family,” a man declared in the voicemail, which was obtained by The Christian Post.

“We are going to tear your shop a part and make you feel as bad as you have made people feel. You f****** bigot scum. You are going down and so is all your employees and their families. You’re done!” continued the caller.

Rich Penkoski, the pastor who is assisting the owners, explained that things have taken a menacing turn.

“They went through this in 2014 but this one for some reason is getting worse,” he explained to the Post. “They got a message from somebody today named Danny that said they have a ‘few surprises’ for them. That is kind of what prompted this.”

Those threats have forced Victoria Miller and other people involved in the business to close the store, at least temporarily. For the time being, the store is unable to accept walk-in traffic and is working with customers on an appointment basis only.

“We have provided formalwear for our customers from all walks of life, including the LGBTQ community. We have always served everyone with respect and dignity,” Miller explained to the left-leaning Huffington Post. “It is just this event, a same-sex marriage, which we cannot participate in due to our personal convictions.”

“We simply ask that we be given the same ability to live our lives according to our convictions,” she added.

People — whether they are gay, straight, Christian or agnostic — shouldn’t face threats and intimidation over their personal beliefs.

Under the guise of “tolerance,” leftists have become the bullies that they claims to despise. Attacking Christians for politely explaining their beliefs is not progress, and it isn’t very American.

The pursuit of happiness means that you are free to try to live your life as you wish, but it has never meant that other people are obligated to bend to your views and support the same goals as you.

For instance, a Muslim grocery store owner should be completely free to only carry halal food and not sell pork if he so wishes… and on the other side of the coin, customers are free to buy their groceries somewhere else if they feel the selection is lacking.

If a lesbian couple was frustrated with their experience at a particular shop, the best response would be to shop elsewhere — perhaps at one of the dozens of other bridal shops in the area.

Forcing beliefs on people with threats and intimidation is the opposite of freedom, the opposite of real diversity, and the opposite of “choice.”

Ironically, liberals seem to have forgotten what those words mean.
