After video footage went viral last week showing a South Carolina police officer subduing a student, we’ve heard many denounce police violence, though the whole thing might have been a set-up.
Another video gaining steam on the Internet demonstrates the all-too-real consequences that can happen when there is no protection at schools or in the classroom — and it is simply terrifying to watch.
The video was shot in 2011 at Chicago Vocational Career Academy, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
The video shows an obviously distraught teacher suffering at the hands of several high school students abusing her in a classroom.
The video, almost three minutes long, shows how the students — and one bully in particular — attack the teacher. The bully is taller and bigger than the female teacher and watching him and the rest of these classroom thugs taunt her is beyond disgusting.
At one point, the bully raises a chair and threatens the teacher. He tells her to “sit your a** down.”
The other students in the classroom do nothing to help the teacher and simply laugh at the situation, encouraging the bully to do more.
The teacher, clearly distressed does her best to keep her cool while these troublemakers continue attacking her.
The look on this teacher’s face is more than enough evidence that security is necessary at some schools and sadly it demonstrates what happens when student know they will not be punished for their actions — when thugs have free rein.
Former Rep. Allen B. West had a few choice words about the incident and they’re right on. He wrote on his website, “This is what happens when there is no family structure, no strong role models, no fear of consequence.”
“I guaran-damn-tee you that young man doesn’t have a father in his household. This is a sad, sad testament to the breakdown in our culture and our civil society. And sadly, if a policeman was caught on camera subduing that kid, he’d end up fired too. The world is upside down,” West concluded.
He is right, and this video shows us why our teachers need police protection more than ever.
