Accidents happen on the roads everyday, but sometimes they don’t end as graphically as we would expect. A video out of China showed a man being crushed by a truck but coming out of it better than he probably feared.
The U.K. Daily Mail reported that the man, referred to only as “Mr. Yang,” was stopped in front of a red trailer truck at an intersection when he is run over.
In China at these intersections, motorcycles are apparently supposed to go straight and large trucks are supposed to turn right.
When the light changes, the trailer surged forward and started to turn right. The motorcyclist was dragged under the trailer as it did a 360-degree roll.
The bike bounced over the man as they were both run over by the two front wheels of the truck. The bike was smashed to pieces, which probably saved the man’s life by shielding him from the crushing force of the trailer wheels.
Immediately bystanders rushed to the man’s aid, including the driver of the trailer truck who stopped as soon as he realized what had happened.
Miraculously, Mr. Yang survived entire ordeal with only a broken arm. He was sent to a hospital to undergo surgery and was expected to make a full recovery.
The driver of the trailer truck reportedly told police that he never even saw the motorcyclist before hitting him.
Mr. Yang might want to think about buying a lottery ticket.
