Crazed Gunman Goes on Murderous Rampage Then Good Samaritan With Concealed Carry Evens the Score
“Good guys” with guns are just a myth… or so goes the liberal narrative.
That “myth” may have just saved lives in Texas, after a lawful concealed carry holder stopped a murder suspect before he could harm anyone else.
What started as one killing quickly became arson, and then violent assault — but it ended there after a Good Samaritan drew their personal handgun.
“Bill Nguyen, 47, is accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Chi Pham, and setting her home in the 2900 block of Hastings on fire,” reported KXAS News in Dallas.
The deadly criminal then drove to a nearby nail salon where another woman worked, and began violently pistol-whipping her while trying to set the building on fire.
That’s when a bystander pulled out his lawfully concealed handgun and ordered the maniac to stop… and police credit the unnamed citizen as a hero.
“He held the suspect at gunpoint while this individual had a gun himself. Had he not been there, there is no telling what could have happened,” said Assistant Chief Daniel Scesney of the Grand Prairie Police Department.
“We are in his debt and very grateful for him taking action when he did,” the assistant chief continued.
In piecing together the chain of events, authorities explained that Nguyen and the murdered victim, Chi Pham, had just ended a romantic relationship. The couple had previously worked together at the nail salon, which likely explains why the suspect headed there to carry out more violence and burn it down.
Sadly, Pham was a single mother and left behind two children, along with having cared for her sister’s children after that relative passed away from cancer.
“She’s a very good person, hard working woman. I just can’t believe this is happening to her,” lamented a friend of the victim named Lon Vo.
“When I called I just heard the kids crying in the background. It’s just devastating,” the acquaintance said.
The situation could have been even more devastating if the violent suspect had been able to continue his rampage. Nguyen has been charged with murder, aggravated assault and arson, according to KXAS.
Anti-Second Amendment advocates often highlight only firearm crimes, while glossing over the countless times that law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves, their families and their neighbors.
In this case, a murder suspect was stopped without even firing a shot, due to the mere presence of a civilian with a gun and the will to use it.
The exact statistics on civilian gun usage are difficult to nail down, but experts have a pretty good picture of how often firearms are used in self-defense.
“Self-defense can be an important crime deterrent,” declared the National Research Council in a CDC-sponsored study that was ironically authorized by President Obama.
“Studies that directly assessed the effect of actual defensive uses of guns have found consistently lower injury rates among gun-using crime victims compared with victims who used other self-protective strategies,” that research report stated.
“Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million per year, in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008,” the NRC report said.
In simple terms, guns save lives — at least when they’re in the hands of a law-abiding and trained citizen. Thanks to one such person in Texas, a violent murderer was stopped… but you probably won’t see liberals admitting it any time soon.
