Democrats Roasted from All Sides for Editing Melania Trump Photo and Then Giving Pathetic Excuse

Share

A “honest mistake” in photo editing has the Lubbock Democratic Party Headquarters going viral, and not in the positive way.

According to Independent Journal Review, the party is getting roasted after releasing a picture of past presidents and first ladies, including Melania Trump, at Barbara Bush’s funeral — and cropping Melania out of the photo.

While the president didn’t attend the funeral, citing the fact that he didn’t want his presence to become a security hassle, Melania Trump represented the first family at the Houston funeral last week.

During the event, a rather-widely circulated picture showed all of the living first ladies and former presidents present at the funeral. In addition to Trump, Jimmy and Rosalyn Carter were also missing, but it was otherwise a full house.

#MondayMotivation, indeed. If this can inspire Mayim Bialik, an actress who’s a Democrat, what could possibly be controversial about this photo?

Nothing — until, that is, the Lubbock Democratic Party Headquarters got their hands on it.

What’s missing, boys and girls?

Amazingly, the Lubbock Democrats decided to claim this was entirely unintentional.

“I apologize for the confusion,” the group said in a Facebook statement.

“There were two pictures posted side by side and I must have grabbed the wrong one. Melania was not purposely excluded nor was this meant to be a controversial post. I meant to change it but became busy. Once again, I apologize.”

There is a certain quote I seem to vaguely remember from the esteemed jurist Judge Judith Sheindlin — aka Judge Judy — about legs, precipitation and the waste product of the human kidneys, but I for the life of me can’t recall the exact wording at the moment.

It’s not like a crime was committed here, but that excuse is Anthony Weiner-worthy. Why didn’t they just say they were hacked? At this juncture, it would have been about as believable.

Facebook users seemed to concur, roasting the Lubbock Democrats in the comments section.

“At least have the moral fortitude to admit what you did was intentional. Nobody believes you,” one wrote.

Do you think this crop was intentional?

“Childish crop job,” another concluded.

“The pettiness that the party has come to is why, I voted for Trump. Some things are not political at all, and this was one of them,” another user said, urging them to “pull yourselves together!”

And then there was perhaps my favorite: “I just love their insincere ‘sincere’ apologies when caught.”

However, one can see their motivation here. Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton by more than a 2-1 margin in Lubbock County, 66-28 and the only Democrats who got over 30 percent of the vote in the county were two minor officials who were running unopposed.

They may have gotten a slight bit of revenge by cropping Melania out of the picture, but they’ve been cropped out of the White House and any real measure of power in their own backyard.

As they always say, the best revenge is voting well.
