Dems Ask for Pics of People Watching Debates, but Conservatives Hijack & Post Own Hilarious Pics Mocking Dems

You get the feeling that the Democratic Party is trying to find itself these days.

Is it the party of relative moderates like longtime establishment insiders House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and former Vice President Joe Biden? Or are avowed democratic socialists like Rep. Alexandria Ocoasio-Cortez and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders taking over?

Point is, it’s fair to say that Democrats are on the verge of a full-blown civil war.

And when you’re fighting among yourselves, the last thing you need to do is give easy ammunition to the enemy.

But that’s exactly what the Democratic National Committee’s Twitter account did Wednesday night during the Democratic presidential debate in Detroit.

“Democrats across the country are watching the second Democratic primary debate in Detroit!,” The Democrats tweeted. “Having a watch party tonight? Share a photo in the comments below and let us know where you’re watching from!”

To say that tweet backfired would be an understatement. Here are just a few examples of the hilarious replies from users who seemed to lean conservative.

There were plenty more great responses, and you should check out the full thread. But this reply might be my personal favorite:

Democrats are at one another’s throats to determine who will be their presidential nominee in 2020.

But the way things are going for them right now, I seriously doubt that whoever emerges the winner has any chance of beating President Donald Trump.
