The Democrat Party and its allies in the media would have the American people believe that the party is unified and strong and enjoys the support of a majority of Americans in its efforts to obstruct President Donald Trump at every turn.
But in reality, the Democrats are in utter disarray, beset by infighting and plagued by their own politically correct identity politics, which has resulted in the special interests of the various subgroups of the party base being weighed against each other.
This was no more evident than when a candidate for the chairmanship of the Democrat National Committee was sent packing by the party after criticizing the race front-runner, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison for his ties to radical Islam, and how those ties do not bode well for the gays and lesbians in the Democrat base.

The Hill reported that Vincent Tolliver, an Arkansan who unsuccessfully ran for Congress, wrote an email explaining his opposition to Ellison, stating, “His being a Muslim is precisely why DNC voters should not vote for him. Muslims discriminate against gays. Islamic law is clear on the subject, and being gay is a direct violation of it.
“In some Muslim countries, being gay is a crime punishable by death,” he added.
“Clearly, Mr. Ellison is not the person to lead the DNC or any other organization committed to not discriminating based on gender identity or sexual orientation,” Tolliver added. “I’m shocked (the Human Rights Campaign) has been silent on the issue. A vote for Representative Ellison by any member of the DNC would be divisive and unconscionable, not to mention counterproductive to the immediate and necessary steps of rebuilding the Democratic Party.”

And for that, he was promptly kicked out of the DNC chairmanship race by interim chair Donna Brazile, who called his truthful comments “disgusting.”
But according to The Washington Times, Tolliver is not going away quietly and has threatened to file a lawsuit against the DNC claiming it has violated his First Amendment right to free speech by “attempting to suppress my voice.”
“The DNC and the Democratic establishment are attempting to prevent me from freely expressing known and indisputable tenets of lslamic law,” Tolliver stated in an exclusive interview with Breitbart. “Moreover, through sleight of hand tactics, interim Chair Donna Brazile falsely accused me of discriminating against Mr. Ellison and cast aspersions by suggesting I was intolerant of religious freedom.
“Furthermore, the DNC’s blocking my candidacy is a glaring contradiction to the 2016 Democratic Platform, that ‘as Democrats, we respect differences of perspective and belief, and pledge to work together to move this country forward, even when we disagree,'” he added. “I am a lifelong Democrat who believes in people and not power and elitism which has successfully corrupted the DNC and the Democratic Party.”
While we would most likely find ourselves in disagreement with Tolliver on a host of issues, we are in complete agreement with him on the truth as it pertains to Islam and gays, as well as the “elitism” and corruption of the Democrat Party.
For far too long Democrats have blatantly pandered to various groups such as gays and Muslims, but now they find themselves painted into a corner and forced to pick sides as the interests of those disparate groups have begun to clash.
The DNC should pick a new chairman at some point this month. If Ellison receives the chairmanship, it will become brutally clear that the Democrats have chosen Muslims over gays as their primary favored constituents.
