Dems Are Losing It: Latest Data Shows They Prefer Socialism To Capitalism

Few things are more fundamentally American than capitalism. It is, quite literally, one of the values that this country was built on.

Through the best of times and the worst of times, capitalism has been what has helped propel America to where it is in the world today.

But don’t tell that to Democrats.

According to a Gallup poll released Monday, more Democrats feel positively about socialism than they do about capitalism.

In fairness, the number of Democrats that support socialism hasn’t actually changed all that much since 2010.

Starting in the middle of Obama’s first term, about 57 percent of Democrats viewed socialism positively. That figure has not changed eight years later.

What has changed, however, are Democratic views on capitalism. In just a matter of two years, Democrats’ views on capitalism has dropped precipitously.

In 2016, 56 percent of Democrats viewed capitalism favorably. That was about on par with how they viewed socialism.

Do you think socialism could ever be successful in the U.S.?

In 2018, however, only 47 percent of Democrats viewed capitalism favorably.

That’s insane.

The uncomfortable truth that people like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just don’t seem to grapple with is that socialism on a large scale simply doesn’t work.

In a group of 10 to 12 people? Sure. Socialism has a shot of working in a short-term capacity.

But in a country as large and diverse as the United States of America? Not a chance.

Take, for example, French video game developer Motion Twin. They received a lot of attention in late July when they revealed that the thriving company has a wholly socialist structure.

Every member of the staff is paid exactly the same, regardless of the actual position they hold, and all decisions are made collaboratively, with no one person having the power to unilaterally override a group decision.

Motion Twin only staffs about 11 people. Hence, why their structure works. For now, at least. In a group that intimate, it’s certainly possible for socialist structures to work in a short-term capacity.

Unfortunately for socialists, there are tad bit more than 11 people in the United States. There are about 326 million people in the United States.

Socialism simply won’t work with that many people. If a pie is cut up into 11 slices, you can get a pretty solid estimate for a “fair” distribution. A pie cut into millions of pieces would be unsustainable and indecipherable.

Yet that is the direction Democrats seem to be heading towards. Unbelievable.
