US Rep: Dems Used Obama DOJ to Infect Intel Community With Anti-Trump Lies

Share

There has been a lot of discussion in recent months regarding increasing evidence that members of former President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice and FBI conspired with Democrat interests in 2016 to spy on the campaign of then-candidate Donald Trump and later undermine his presidency post-election.

According to Fox News, that culminated Friday with the release of a special memo from the House Intelligence Committee which laid bare how the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Court had been abused and lied to by senior members of the DOJ and FBI who had used the “salacious and unverified” anti-Trump dossier to obtain a FISA warrant — a dossier which was bought and paid for by the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton campaign.

Shortly after the four-page memo was released, Fox News host Harris Faulkner was joined by Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, who summarized what was learned from the memo in a brilliantly succinct yet detailed fashion.

“We now know what happened: the Democratic Party hired the Perkins (Coie) law firm. The Perkins law firm hired Fusion GPS. Fusion GPS hired Christopher Steele to go and dig up the dossier, and then they hired Nellie Ohr, the wife of Bruce Ohr, to get the fake dossier from a political environment into the bloodstream of the intelligence community,” Gaetz stated breathlessly.

Gaetz wasn’t finished yet, and continued, “And what’s most outrageous to me is that this fake dossier was so unreliable that the way that it was validated to the FISA Court was a Yahoo News article written by Michael Isikoff, planted by Christopher Steele.”

“So Christopher Steele wrote the fake dossier, and then he went and planted fake news stories to validate the dossier,” the representative added.

As an aside, among several bombshell revelations in the memo was the fact that what Steele (and Fusion GPS) did what’s known as circular sourcing, in which a story that emanates from one solitary source is made to appear as though it has been reported by multiple independent sources to lend it credibility, and it is generally frowned upon as both lazy and shady — at least by those in the media with any sort of integrity.

“The FBI was going to pay Christopher Steele,” Gaetz stated. “They had authorized payment, but then when they found out he was talking to the media and that he was unreliable, they canceled payment to him.”

Are you glad the FISA abuse memo was released to the public?

“But even after canceling payment to Christopher Steele, the FBI and the Department of Justice re-authorized the FISA warrant to spy on American citizens based on a political document that had its origins at the Democratic National Committee,” he continued.

“I’ve been waiting a long time to stitch together that fact pattern for the American people,” added Gaetz, who has indeed been among those on the forefront in Congress anxious to deliver this troubling information to the general public.

Rep. Gaetz hit the nail on the head with his detailed summary of what went down, save one thing he forgot to mention — the involvement of the Clinton campaign with the dossier through Fusion GPS.

It was the Clinton campaign, along with the DNC via payment through the Perkins Coie law firm, who contracted Fusion GPS, and by extension Steele, to produce the anti-Trump dossier that was ultimately used to obtain a FISA warrant enabling Obama’s people — and likely Clinton’s people as well — to spy on various members of the Trump campaign and conjure up the whole “Russian collusion” conspiracy narrative.

This all sounds like the plot of a big blockbuster Hollywood movie, and could very well eventually become one … if those who run Hollywood would ever stop virtue-signalling to their fellow liberals long enough to actually produce it.

Now, it must be kept in mind that this memo represents merely the tip of the iceberg that is the rampant corruption of Democrats and the prior administration, which hopefully will be further revealed in the near future … meaning the potential blockbuster Hollywood film of this memo would be but the first in a series of movies that conservatives would flock to go see.
