Diamond and Silk Have Epic Idea After Cuomo Says He's Illegal Alien
A Democrat governor just made one of the most stupid comments of the year… and conservative firebrands Diamond and Silk were ready with a perfect response.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo made a bizarre and nonsensical claim about immigration last week. While speaking in New York City, Cuomo declared that because his family originally came from Europe generations ago, he’s an illegal immigrant.
“I’m undocumented,” the governor shouted during a campaign appearance. “You want to deport an undocumented person, start with me. Because I’m an undocumented person.”
It apparently never occurred to Cuomo that words mean things, and “undocumented” actually has a definition. The “documents” in the term of course refer to birth certificates, passports, or immigration papers proving American citizenship.
Considering that Cuomo was born in New York and has been a legal citizen all his life, his claim of being “undocumented” was both completely wrong and possibly deceptive.
That’s certainly what Diamond and Silk, two outspoken conservative pundits, thought. The social media stars appeared on “Fox & Friends” and tore into Cuomo’s head-scratching comments.
“Well if he is undocumented, maybe ICE should go pay him a visit,” Lynette “Diamond” Hardaway declared on Friday. “Go ahead and deport him.”
It’s hard to argue with that. If Cuomo is truly undocumented as he insisted in his own words, then not only should he be getting a visit from law enforcement, he should be forcibly removed from office.
The legal requirements to become governor of New York say that a person must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New York to hold the office. Both of those mean that a candidate needs to be, you guessed it, documented.
“The fact that he lied, and he tried to use this to incite some kind of rage or outrage is just unreal to us,” Diamond and Silk commented.
“Listen, when you come in this country you must be legal. And if he really cared about illegal aliens, he would tell them that,” they continued.
Cuomo’s claim to be “undocumented” wasn’t the only nonsensical thing he said during his appearance. The liberal governor also made a strange and false claim about a slang term for Italians.
“You know what they called Italian-Americans back in the day? They called them wops,” Cuomo said. “You know what wop stood for? Without papers.”
Problem: That appears to also be completely false.
“According to the Online Etymology dictionary, the slur originated from southern Italian dialect ‘guappo,’ which means ‘dandy, dude, stud.’ The dictionary said it’s not an acronym,” reported Fox News.
Incredibly, the made-up stories didn’t stop there. The Democrat also made claims about his family that by almost any standards were gross exaggerations.
“A day earlier, Cuomo addressed a group of union workers and said he was ‘raised by poor immigrants from South Jamaica,’ a neighborhood in Queens, New York,” Fox explained.
Was he “raised by poor immigrants?” Well, no.
“His father Mario, a three-term governor of New York, was born in Queens to Italian immigrant parents. His mother, Matilda, was also born in Queens,” continued Fox News. In other words, his grandparents may have been immigrants, but the Cuomo family was well established in America by the time Andrew appeared.
Hilariously, Cuomo’s false claim of being undocumented brought him scorn from immigration advocacy groups.
“To Dreamer and immigrants like me, these fabrications are offensive,” immigration activist Antonio Alarcon responded, explaining that the governor “has no idea what it’s like to live as an undocumented person.”
“For those of us who came to this country with our parents to find a better life, and have struggled daily to get by and faced the threat of being torn from our family, it’s unbelievable that the governor would try to claim to have shared our experience,” Alarcon said.
Even Dictionary.com threw shade at the liberal governor, tweeting the definition of “undocumented” to help Cuomo understand how words work.
Leftists like Andrew Cuomo seem to actually believe that repeating a narrative, no matter how false, makes it magically true.
Whether trying to wave away borders between countries or pretending that having citizenship papers is the same as not having them, they’ve bet their political futures on doublespeak.
No-nonsense Americans like Diamond and Silk are starting to notice, and it’s about time that weasels like Cuomo were called out on their malarkey.
