In the current day and age, there is no denying that many liberal progressives have sought to dictate what topics are permitted to be discussed in the public sphere, and the topics increasingly deemed too controversial or politically incorrect are typically those principles and values held dear by conservative Americans.
Thankfully, not everyone has been cowed into submission by the liberal-led culture war, and one Dairy Queen franchise owner in a small Wisconsin town has pushed back in that ongoing battle with a bit of humor, according to The Daily Wire.
About four years ago, a customer complained to store owner Kevin Scheunemann about the Christian music he had playing inside the restaurant. But instead of changing the music to something else, he merely posted a “warning” sign on his front door letting potential customers know what they could expect to find within his establishment.

The sign read, in part: “This restaurant is politically incorrect. We have been known to say ‘Merry Christmas,’ ‘Happy Easter’ and ‘God Bless America.'” The sign also offers up thanks to police officers, firefighters, and of course the good ol’ USA, as well as free sundaes for military veterans on Veterans Day.
Hilariously, the last part of the sign reads: “If this offends you, you are welcome to contact the owner … and arrange a designated ‘snowflake safe space’ a minimum 24 hours in advance.” It closed out with large, bold letters that declared, “In God We Trust.”
The sign at the DQ store gained some national attention recently when an out-of-towner from the liberal state of Oregon posted a complaint about the sign on Facebook, according to the Daily Wire. In a post that has since been removed, the writer claimed “I find this extremely offensive,” and demanded DQ’s corporate headquarters “Please speak with the franchise owner.”

But according to WDJT, Scheunemann has no intentions of changing the sign, nor do his regular customers have any issues with it. The vast majority are in agreement with the sentiments it puts forward.
“I felt the sign was appropriate to hang in terms of being transparent about the views of the owner and staff supporting God and country,” Scheunemann told the station. “It just seems that those kinds of values and principles are becoming controversial in society.”
That view was shared by local bar owner April Serwe, who told WDJT. “He posted it on the door so you see it before you walk in. You don’t have to walk in if you don’t agree with it.”
As for Dairy Queen’s corporate headquarters, executives don’t appear to be taking up the offended liberal’s complaint either. A statement released by the company makes it clear that headquarters doesn’t endorse Scheunemann’s sign, but franchise owners have the freedom to run their stores as they see fit.
“American Dairy Queen Corporation does not encourage our independently owned and operated franchisees to post non-business related messages in their locations or on their external reader boards,” the statement read. “This sign expresses the views of this independent owner only and does not speak for ADQ Corporation or any of our other independent franchise owners. We expect our franchisees and employees to treat every person who walks through our doors with the utmost dignity and respect. Nothing less is acceptable.”
This sign is pretty great, especially the part about arranging for a designated “snowflake safe space” with advance notice from perpetually offended liberals. If he’s in the mood, the owner can turn off his Christian music and remove any and all references to God and a patriotic love of country, lest the snowflakes melt faster than the ice cream they are ordering.
It’s a good bet he won’t be in the mood, though.
