Have you ever been craving a delicious Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich only to pull up in the parking lot and discover they aren’t open? It’s a Sunday, and you forgot. As admirable as it is for Chick-fil-a to take the day off, it can sometimes be a little frustrating.
However, this past Sunday, Chick-fil-A broke its own rules to help hungry, stranded airport passengers.
Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport experienced a major blackout which resulted in grounded flights and thousands of disgruntled travelers.

“Dozens of flights had landed in Atlanta as the blackout occurred, with some forced to spend hours on the tarmac as they waited for crews to take passengers off via stairs,” Mashable reported.
Power was eventually restored and planes were deboarded. Nevertheless, the delay left thousands with nowhere to go and passengers were forced to stay the night at the Georgia International Convention Center.
It was then that Chick-fil-A sprang into action.

Because Chick-fil-A is a Christian owned company, the restaurant is closed on Sundays to honor the Sabbath and allow a day of worship for owners and employees. But upon hearing about the crisis at the airport, the restaurant decided to break policy and feed the stranded passengers.
According to Atlanta’s Mayor, Kasim Reed, Chick-fil-A served over 2,000 people that day.
In a Twitter post, Reed thanked Chick-fil-A and CEO Dan Cathy:
Update: Power has been restored to Concourses A, B, F, T and the @ATLairport atrium. We have provided 2,000 meals so far. Special thank you to Dan Cathy and @ChickfilA for their support. #atlairport

Of course, others were just as shocked to see Chick-fil-A open on a Sunday.
Chick fila on a Sunday?

While liberals like to complain about Chick-fil-A’s Christian values, they’re going to have a difficult time criticizing this move. Still, some have tried. “The company was willing to break with traditions to serve a community in need. That’s great. Perhaps it can tackle its history of being anti-gay next,” Johnny Lieu wrote for Mashable.
Wait, so in one paragraph you were able to both thank Chick-fil-A and criticize them? How nice.

And another thing: Chick-fil-A isn’t anti-gay, Johnny. Can anyone say fake news?
Yes, Chick-fil-A is pro-family and believes in the traditional view of marriage between a man and a woman. But being pro-traditional-family, doesn’t make you “anti-gay.” Chick-fil-a’s leadership has made it clear they will serve anyone and everyone, gay or not.
Nonetheless, leftists will use any opportunity they get to bash conservative values, even when it has to do with Chick-fil-a feeding hungry travelers.
For us at Conservative Tribune, our hats are off to Chick-fil-A for helping their fellow man in a desperate time of need. We also applaud them for standing firm in their principles, even when it isn’t popular.
