Enemy Sniper Makes Elementary Mistake, Gets a Missile in Return

Share

It’s tough out there for a sniper. I know this because I’ve played “Call of Duty” like at least three times.

In real life, it’s even worse and there are more rules to remember. A sniper belonging to a pro-Russian separatist militia in Ukraine found that out the hard way.

According to Funker530, the incident occurred because of several mistakes the sniper made — most notably, letting his muzzle flash show.

“The sniper in this video likely wasn’t very well trained,” the website wrote.

“Not only is his muzzle close enough to the opening to allow the flash to be seen, but he also stays in the static position long enough for the defending unit to emplace, set up, and fire an anti-tank guided missile at him.”

As you might imagine anti-tank guided missiles can do real damage to a sniper’s lair — and very likely the sniper inside. Here’s what happened next:

As Funker530 notes, the position within the industrial complex wasn’t that terrible.

Do you think America should get involved in the war in Ukraine?
“The firing location in itself seems pretty solid, but an actual trained sniper would have taken measures to conceal his muzzle flash and would have also quickly relocated after a shot or two,” the website commented.

Then again, pro-Russian Ukrainian snipers aren’t exactly the most crack forces in the world, which is I suppose why they end up getting picked off by anti-tank guided missiles.

While this video is old — it was originally uploaded to YouTube back in 2016 — the war in Ukraine is still a very fresh thing.

As France24 notes, three years after a “peace deal,” the conflict rages on, with pro-Russian separatist forces controlling parts of Donetsk and Luhansk.

Ukraine recently passed a law designating Russia as an aggressor. Russian media has said the legislation is preparation for a “new war.”

The problem with that is that the “old” one hasn’t even ended.

For this sniper, however, unless he decamped from his firing position almost immediately after taking his shot, the war might have ended a long time ago.
