ESPN found itself in hot water after it aired what many liberals perceived to be a “racist” segment highlighting ESPN2’s Fantasy Sports Marathon on Monday.
In the skit, which was a mock fantasy football draft, fantasy football owners participated in an auction draft where they sold the player to the highest bidder. It was a lighthearted parody that is similar to the way drafts take place for fantasy football online.
Seeing such a horrible thing displayed on television was apparently too much for some to witness.

While the auction included white players, footage of a white man auctioning off New York Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. drew outrage from some big league names.

Some took the skit way too seriously.

ESPN issued an apology but the fact that the network thought an auction skit was fine to begin with illustrates the kind of hypocrisy we see with the left.
“Auction drafts are a common part of fantasy football, and ESPN’s segments replicated an auction draft with a diverse slate of top professional football players. Without that context, we understand the optics could be portrayed as offensive, and we apologize,” ESPN said in a statement to USA Today Sports.
Liberals need to understand that they simply can’t pick and choose their issues.

Earlier this week, liberals, including some of those at ESPN, became enraged at what happened in Charlottesville, Virginia, and took shots at President Donald Trump for his reaction to the violence that occurred there.
Yet this skit was approved and aired.
This incident represents the level of hyper-sensitivity that exists in our culture. It’s getting so bad that nothing is safe from being labeled “racist.”
There is nothing inherently wrong with holding mock auction that represents the mechanics of how fantasy football works, something of which hundreds of thousands of football fans participate in every year. There is also nothing inherently wrong with Confederate statues. Both of these things are symbolic, but some liberals are too sensitive to deal with that.

ESPN has learned that everything, and I mean everything, must pass muster with liberals, and sooner or later, it will become almost impossible to say or do anything without offending someone.
And ESPN, with its endless promotion of liberal causes and punishment for conservatives, helped bring it on themselves.
