Former CIA analyst Peter Vincent Pry warned in an interview Sunday that while the potential of a nuclear attack from North Korea poses a tremendous risk to the United States, so does the possibility of the rogue regime using its satellites to paralyze America’s electric grid.
Pry, the executive director of the privately funded Task Force on National and Homeland Security and the chief of staff of the Congressional EMP Commission, warned specifically of two North Korean satellites with an orbit path over the United States.
“We should not be tolerating the North Korean satellites that are orbiting over our country,” he told Breitbart contributor and radio talk show host Aaron Klein. “There are two of them. And the intelligence community is still silent about those.”

Launched in 2012 and 2016, respectively, the KMS 3-2 and KMS-4 satellites could theoretically be outfitted with weapons capable of carrying out an electromagnetic pulse attacks, Pry argued, adding that both satellites are orbiting at the “optimum height for putting an EMP field over all 48 contiguous United States.”
“And they would obviously be a basis for a surprise EMP attack if North Korea wants to commit aggression against South Korea” as well, he continued, or if the North Korea country wants to “blackmail us if we were going to intervene to deliver on our security guarantees for Japan, South Korea or the Pacific.”
This is not the first time the former CIA analyst has tried to bring attention to a potential EMP attack by North Korea.

In a column for The Hill three months ago, Pry noted that an EMP attack could wind up killing far more people than a conventional nuclear attack “by blacking out electric grids and destroying life-sustaining critical infrastructures like communications, transportation, food and water.”
And during an appearance on Fox News three years ago, he stressed that an EMP attack could in fact kill nine out of 10 Americans within a year alone “of starvation, disease and societal collapse”:
This is a genuine concern, which raises a key question: Why have both the intelligence community and the mainstream media been ignoring it? Is it simply that they view Pry as just another “right-wing nut job,” as they like to call anyone with whom they disagree, or is there something else at play?
