Good Guy With a Gun Saves His Mom from 2 Alleged Armed Home Invaders

Share

A Titusville, Florida, man was able to defend himself and his mother by killing two home invaders who reportedly broke in and got into a fight with the family.

According to Florida Today, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office says that Alvin Smalls and Amir Rashad Lynn broke into the house at the 1600 block of West Court on Thursday.

“A man grabbed a gun to defend himself and shot the intruders, deputies said,” Florida Today reported.

“Smalls was found dead in the home, and Lynn collapsed outside, Sheriff’s spokesman Tod Goodyear said. Lynn was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.”

The 911 call claims that Smalls, 20, and Lynn, 18 — both from Mims, Florida — held the man’s mother at gunpoint.

“Send police units immediately. I just killed somebody that broke into my house,” the man said, according to WKMG-TV.

“He held my mom at gunpoint,” he continued.

“He’s bleeding, not you, right?” the dispatcher asked.

Do you support the Second Amendment?

“Yes, no, me and my mom are fine,” the man said. “Thank God.”

The men arrived in a car apparently driven by Smalls.

“The person that had the vehicle is dead in my bed,” the homeowner told 911.

“One of them is dead. The other one I shot once,” he added.

As for Lynn, he tried to flee on foot but collapsed outside; he was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. WKMG says that the family knew at least one of the gunmen..

It’s a frightening situation, but one we hear of all too often — a case where a good guy with a gun is able to defend himself, his family and his home against criminals.

Liberals enjoy laughing at the “good guy with a gun” archetype and yet ignore cases like these where the only thing that likely saved these individuals was a firearm.

You don’t have to search hard for this sort of thing. Back in December, an Indianapolis man was saved from a brutal attack when his wife was able to grab a firearm and scare off two home invaders who also had a gun. In November, an armed mother in South Carolina was able to ward off a home invader with her gun, all while her three children were in the house.

When you’re faced with a home invader, you don’t know if the police will be able to get there quickly enough.

As brave and efficient as our men and women in blue may be, a situation like that can go bad from bad to worst in an instant.

That’s one of the reasons we have the Second Amendment, folks.

I pray to God that I never have to be a good guy with a gun. However, if and when the situation arises, it beats simply being a good guy.
