On Wednesday, Fox News host Greta Van Susteren inadvertently exposed the lone individual who effectively ruined former Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields’ career by encouraging her to pursue a criminal claim against GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, Corey Lewandowkski.
“Terrible that some in the media pushed her to this,” she tweeted, according to Breitbart. “Anyone in the media telling Michelle Fields to prosecute that claim was using her. Any lawyer w/ ounce of experience knew the DA would not pursue case against Lewandowsky.”
She added, “She is young and people w/ no experience encouraged her.”

Notice her use of the word “lawyer.” Now watch the following video, which shows Fields’ close friend, former Breitbart editor Ben Shapiro, telling Fox News host Megyn Kelly that he personally encouraged Fields to file charges with the police:

“I had a conversation with Michelle for an hour last night where she told me this whole story,” he said. “I did encourage her to go to the police. I strongly urged her to go and file a police report.”
Here’s the kicker: Shapiro is a lawyer — an inexperienced 31-year-old one. Susteren, on the other hand, is a veteran lawyer and criminal defense attorney.

While Susteren refrained from mentioning Shapiro by name, it seems evident that she meant him.
Moreover, the news host went on to share a blog post claiming that the people now encouraging Fields to bring a civil lawsuit against Fields are “not doing her a favor.”

She very likely meant Shapiro, and once again, Fields reportedly plans to follow whatever ill advice he might be giving her — in that she now reportedly aspires to sue both Lewandowski and Trump for defamation.

Apparently, this young reporter prefers learning her lessons in life the hard way.
