Famous Gun Designer Makes 1 for Trump -- Get Ready to Be Jealous
Former reality TV star Jesse James, who hosted the Discovery Channel show “Monster Garage” and later appeared in the second season of “Celebrity Apprentice,” has returned to the spotlight to tout a custom 45 caliber pistol he designed and produced in honor of President Donald Trump.
Now the CEO of the Texas-based firearms manufacturer Jesse James Firearms Unlimited, the reality TV star turned gunsmith crafted a 412 stainless steel firearm based off the JJFU Grand Master X 1911 model that includes 24-karat gold plating and an inscription that reads “Donald J. Trump,” according to Forbes magazine.
Like James articulated to Forbes, “(T)he gun is pretty bada**.”

Speaking with Maxim magazine, James explained the motivation behind his decision to construct this riveting bad boy.
“Besides us being friends and me building guns for a living, as soon as I knew he was gonna win, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna build him a gun,'” he said. “I wanted to really do something special. Even without the presidency, I wanted to do something that was a little on the flamboyant side.”
“Something that looks kinda bada**, like a ‘Dirty Harry’ gun. Dirty Harry always had that long .44 Magnum. So it seemed kinda obvious that we should do a .45 caliber since he’s the 45th president, right?”
Makes perfect sense to me. When asked if he might gift the gun to Trump, however, James admitted that he would rather sell it to him instead. Why? Because gifting it would by default make it “property of the people.”
“(I)t’ll go to the (Presidential) Library when he’s not president anymore, which I guess is cool for the gun because it’ll be on display, but I kinda think he should keep it and shoot it, because it’s an awesome gun,” he explained.

“Donald Trump’s kind of old school, like 1970s. You know, New York City rich guy. So, a little bit of gold, a little bit of decorative filigree work,” he said in the video, expounding further on what prompted him to make the gun so flashy.
“It’s kind of like, a modern Dirty Harry gun. He’s kind of bigger than life, I think. So he needs a bigger than life pistol.”
Agreed.
In his interview with Maxim, James pointed out that the gun’s case and box are just as nifty as the firearm itself: “The handmade case is local Texas Pecan and Walnut. The box uses wood from one of George Washington’s original 13 Chestnut trees to inlay ‘DJT’ and ’45th’ inside,” he said.
Very cool.
Here’s the very sad news: He only made one.
Though this is definitely disappointing, I just hope that this bad boy winds up in the hands of the man who most deserves to wield it: President Donald J. Trump.
