Harlem Restaurant Owners to Anti-White Prof: 'Get Your Burgers Somewhere Else'
This is one college professor who had a lesson coming to him.
The owners of a Harlem, New York, restaurant that was the setting for an incident that spurred a white Rutgers University professor to post a racist rant against white people on social media last week have told the professor in no uncertain terms that racism isn’t welcome in their establishment.
And that includes white people who can’t stand white people.
As the Conservative Tribune reported on Monday, James Livingston, a professor of history at the New Jersey university, launched a diatribe on Facebook on May 31 that announced he was so upset by the behavior of white children at the Harlem Shake restaurant he apparently frequents that he wanted to “resign” from being white.
“OK, officially, I now hate white people,” Livingston wrote in a post that was removed by Facebook but captured in a screen shot by The Daily Caller. “I am a white people (sic), for God’s sake, but can we keep them—us—us out of my neighborhood?”
“Slide around the floor, you little s—head, sing loudly, you moron. Do what you want, nobody here is gonna restrict your right to be white,” he wrote.
“I hereby resign from my race. F— these people. Yeah, I know it’s about access to my dinner. F— you, too.”
Well, access to his dinner might be a problem for Professor Livingston – at least at the Harlem Shake.
Obviously not happy about having their restaurant’s name associated with a rant like Livingston’s, the restaurant’s owners issued a statement to TheBlaze that addresses Livingston directly, and advises him to “get your burgers somewhere else.”
“For five years and counting, we built our business on a prerogative [of] cherishing diversity within our ownership, staff and customers in our beloved Harlem COMMUNITY,” partners Jelena Pasic and Dardra Coaxum wrote, according to TheBlaze.
“We refuse to be sucked into your racist rants, so if you wish to name drop, please use names of those with similar views.
“We ask that our name is removed from your rant because we do not want to have anything to do with you. And yeah, we ask that you get your burgers somewhere else. We do not tolerate ‘racism’ either. We thrive on equality and fairness and have full intentions to keep it that way!”
The two women made the point separately in an Instagram post that stated the case plainly:
“We proudly have diverse ownership, staff and most importantly, customers!”

It will surprise basically nobody to learn that Livingston is a known radical lefty of the big-government type. He wrote an op-ed for The New York Times in 2011 describing just how little private investment matters to economic growth. So it’s obvious that whatever brains he has, he doesn’t them use very well.
Still, a guy who’s a professor of history at a reputable school like Rutgers should have known that even in post-Obama America, expressing outright loathing for any race is unacceptable – even if it’s his own, and even if that race is white.
According to Fox News, Livingston is being investigated by the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus, where he teaches, for violations of university policy against discrimination and harassment in connection with the case.
“There is no place for racial intolerance at Rutgers,” spokeswoman Dory Devlin told Fox.
Nope. And not at the Harlem Shake either.
As Professor Livingston is learning all too well.
