About two years ago, the mainstream media enthusiastically reported on then-Democrat primary candidate Hillary Clinton stopping by at a Chipotle restaurant in Ohio to grab a burrito bowl.
Specifically, they pointed out how nobody in the restaurant had even noticed her presence. Some in the media at the time attributed this to Clinton trying to blend in with everyday Americans, but the latest email releases from WikiLeaks proved otherwise.
“No one noticed that she was there, which made for an awkward encounter between me and the manager as I was taking aerial shots of HRC ordering,” press secretary Nick Merrill admitted in an email to campaign aide Teddy Goff. “I think he thought I was from the health department.”

How embarrassing.
In the same email chain, Merrill added that Clinton had the day before stopped by for gas at the Pilot Travel Center truck stop near Porter, Pennsylvania, where she literally ran a lap around the place to try to drum up some attention.

“She did a lap around the place and looked at all the big rigs before people started to catch on back in the front lot near the pumps,” he wrote. “She shook some hands with a few families and posed for photos in front of a large yellow and red ‘Travel Center’ sign.”
Granted, Clinton had reportedly just announced her candidacy for president when these events transpired, so word was only just then getting out about it.
But Clinton had been in the public eye for decades — first as the first lady of Arkansas, then the first lady of the U.S., then as a senator and finally as secretary of state. Yet nobody seemed to recognize her, let alone care for her presence among them.
Moreover, though almost two years have passed since this occurred, the lack of enthusiasm for Clinton still seems about the same, at least in comparison to the enthusiasm seen daily at campaign rallies for GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump.

No matter what Clinton does or how hard she tries, the American people seem capable of merely tolerating her as an alternative to the bombastic billionaire candidate.
When it comes to actually liking her, she is simply out of luck.
