Hillary Wasn't Out of the 2020 Consideration for Long. NYT's Latest Info Signals Potential Disaster for Other Dems.

Democrats hoping to become the next president breathed a sigh of relief when former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said she wasn’t running, but Clinton clarified Tuesday that she’s still considering a run.

Clinton, who would be a formidable opponent for any Democrat, heavily implied that she wasn’t going to run for president in an interview with New York’s News 12 Westchester on Tuesday.

In fact, Clinton outright said, “I’m not running.”

“I’m not running, but I’m going to keep on working and speaking and standing up for what I believe,” Clinton said.

“I want to be sure that people understand I’m going to keep speaking out. I’m not going anywhere. What’s at stake in our country, the kind of things that are happening right now are deeply troubling to me.”

Some Democrats probably rejoiced upon hearing this news. Clinton’s run would make it more difficult for some Democrats who are still deciding if they should run, such as former Vice President Joe Biden.

And if Clinton decided to run, the Democrat establishment would certainly throw their support behind her as they did in 2016 when Clinton was against Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who wants to avoid a repeat of his previous run.

But Clinton either misspoke or was just teasing, because she quickly backpedaled those comments.

Late Tuesday night, Maggie Haberman, reporter for The New York Times, tweeted information that likely upset Democrats seeking the nomination.

As it turns out, Clinton still might run for president.

Do you think Hillary Clinton will run in 2020?

“Spoke to someone close with Clinton in contact with her today. They say she wasn’t trying to be emphatic and close the door on running when she spoke to a local reporter yesterday, and that she was surprised by how definitively it played,” Haberman tweeted.

But Clinton insists that a presidential run is still “unlikely” despite her clarification.

“The person also says she is extremely unlikely to run, but that she remains bothered that she’s expected to close the door on it when, say, John Kerry isn’t. She has told her team she is waiting at least to see the Mueller report.”

With so many Democrats already running for president, Clinton’s involvement in the mix would only make the left-wing circus more entertaining to watch.

Clinton would make it extremely difficult for potential nominees to stand out from the already-saturated field of candidates.
