Holder Violence: Crowd Chants 'Fight' After He Tells Them To Kick Republicans

Share

Former Attorney General Eric Holder is back in the headlines this week with a speech apparently encouraging violence by Democrats’ supporters.

Holder was giving the talk in Georgia on Sunday at an event for local Democratic candidates. His message quickly turned against conservatives, giving Michelle Obama’s “we go high” a sick twist.

“It is time for us, as Democrats, to be as tough as they are, to be as dedicated as they are, to be as committed as they are,” Holder said in reference to Republican strength. Later, he told the crowd “when they go low, we go high.’ No. When they go low, we kick ’em.”

The video was posted to the GOP War Room YouTube channel.

To be fair, The Washington Post pointed out that moments later, Holder tried to tone things down.

“When I say we, you know, ‘We kick ‘em,’ I don’t mean we do anything inappropriate. We don’t do anything illegal,” he said, according to The Post.

Maybe, but by then the damage had been done. And Holder’s history is not one that gives him the benefit of the doubt.

Many remember Holder for being the first sitting U.S. attorney general to be held in contempt of Congress. The trouble stemmed from Operation Fast and Furious, a “gun-walking” operation that allowed weapons to be purchased illegally so the United States government could track them.

Do you think Eric Holder is deliberately inciting violence?

The operation was a complete disaster.

Guns allowed to end up in criminal cartel hands were found at murder scenes, and are the suspected tools in the killing of many Mexican citizens.

Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was an American casualty of the same scheme. Guns being tracked were found at the scene of his murder on the Mexican-U.S. border in 2010.

Holder, apparently not content with the blood of one innocent American on his hands, is now openly advocating for violence against political enemies.

In a nation where politically motivated arson and violence is already too commonplace, telling supporters to “kick” opponents is completely irresponsible.

And unlike Sarah Palin’s “bull’s-eye” map, the so-called inspiration for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ shooting, Holder’s words were a very real rejection of civility.

Political violence is a very grave threat to modern Americans, and one that many take seriously.

The man who opened fire on Republicans at practice for a charity baseball game last year, James Hodgkinson, was a supporter of Bernie Sanders. Posts found on his Facebook account showed how he had already dehumanized members of the GOP well before opening fire.

Hodgkinson wasn’t an outlier, either. Twitter and Facebook are full of users parroting the same angry statements, and the same promises of violence.

In this cultural context, Eric Holder’s words are beyond irresponsible. He knows full well what unstable people are capable of, especially after being whipped into a political frenzy.

It’s uncertain whether anyone will take Holder’s advice to assault conservatives. In this political climate, violence from the left never seems more than two steps away.
