Huck's Tweet on Freaky Plane Encounter With Kerry Is Our Favorite Post of the Day

Share

Mike Huckabee is known for being a clear thinking, straight shooter — and for having a jovial sense of humor. Both of those qualities were on full display Sunday as the former Arkansas governor took a jab at John Kerry.

“Wow! Just spotted John Kerry sitting w/ James Taylor up in Biz Class on my Delta flight to TLV,” Huckabee wrote on Twitter. TLV is the airport code for Tel Aviv, the second largest city in Israel.

“Said they are on their way to Tehran so Kerry can salvage Iran deal,” Huck continued. “Taylor will sing ‘You’ve Got a Friend’ to Ayatollah. Cargo hold said to be filled with pallets of cash.”

That last part of Huckabee’s post was clearly a joke, but the Fox News personality was in fact on his way to Israel. Whether or not he actually encountered a guitar-playing James Taylor with Kerry is a bit more foggy.

“On my way to Israel with a great group of people who I will take from Dan to Beersheba and hope they love this place as I have,” the former governor also posted over the weekend.

The dig against Kerry and piles of cash for the Ayatollah is a not-so-veiled reference to several shady “deals” the former secretary of state and the Obama administration made with Iran. It’s hard to view the payments as anything less than bribery … or terrorist payoffs.

“The Obama administration secretly organized an airlift of $400 million worth of cash to Iran that coincided with the January release of four Americans detained in Tehran,” The Wall Street Journal reported in August 2016.

Should the U.S. pull out of the Iran nuclear agreement?

“Wooden pallets stacked with euros, Swiss francs and other currencies were flown into Iran on an unmarked cargo plane, according to these officials,” the WSJ report said. “The money represented the first installment of a $1.7 billion settlement the Obama administration reached with Iran to resolve a decades-old dispute over a failed arms deal.”

Shockingly, even Kerry himself admitted that some of the money being delivered to Iran would probably aid terrorism.

“When asked about whether some the $150 billion in sanctions relief to Iran would go to terrorist groups, Kerry …. conceded some of that could go to groups considered terrorists, saying there was nothing the U.S. could do to prevent that,” reported CNN.

“I think that some of it will end up in the hands of the IRGC or other entities, some of which are labeled terrorists,” Kerry sheepishly admitted.

Remember when the Obama administration bragged about its “smart diplomacy?”

Compare that willingness to not only cave to a hostile nation, but to actually deliver piles of cash, versus the completely different approach taken by the Trump administration in North Korea.

Instead of acting weak and making billion-dollar concessions that hurt America, Trump took a posture of toughness and strength with Kim Jong Un — and so far, it seems to be working.

It’s the difference between responding to a criminal by groveling, or by standing firm. The Kerry approach was to eagerly give wads of cash — along with credit cards and PINs — to a mugger, hoping that he’ll appreciate it and become nice.

The Trump way is a bit different: Look the mugger in the eye and declare, “No. You are the one in a bad position. I’m very well armed you’re messing with the wrong guy. Your move.”

Judging by Huckabee’s mockery of Kerry on Twitter, it’s pretty clear which version he supports.
