Hunters Now the Hunted: Obama WH Counsel Indicted in Russia Investigation

Share

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation is the gift that keeps on giving for President Donald Trump, as former President Barack Obama’s White House counsel Greg Craig was indicted Thursday by a grand jury.

Democrats cheered on Mueller’s two-year investigation with the expectation that Trump would be impeachable by the end of it, but Mueller’s report has been nothing but good news for the president so far.

As almost everyone knows by now, Trump was vindicated when Mueller found no evidence of Russian government “collusion” with the Trump presidential campaign after Democratic politicians and the establishment media peddled conspiracy theories about it since even before Trump took office.

The media and the left’s credibility absolutely tanked as a result of the Mueller report, which was reflected in cable news ratings.

And things went from bad to worse for Democrats after Craig was indicted on Thursday by federal prosecutors in a case that stemmed from Mueller’s investigation, according to CNN.

“The charges against Craig, who was White House counsel during the Obama administration, concern work he performed for Ukraine in 2012 while he was a partner at top law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP,” CNN reported.

According to CNN, Craig’s law firm was hired to work for the government of Ukraine by Paul Manafort, who served briefly as Trump’s campaign chairman.

Manafort was sentenced in March by two federal judges in separate court cases to a total of seven-and-a-half years in prison, according to Politico. The charges he was convicted of, or pleaded guilty to, included bank fraud, tax fraud and witness tampering.

None of the charges had to do with Manafort’s time with the Trump campaign, but Democrats consistently used Manfort’s legal troubles to claim that Trump’s campaign was under foreign influence.

Do you think this will this help Trump in 2020?

Now, the same innuendo could be used against Democrats.

In fact, Craig worked alongside Manafort for Ukraine’s Ministry of Justice in 2012.

Before that, Craig worked as White House counsel for Obama from 2009 to 2010. He also helped coordinate former President Bill Clinton’s defense against impeachment proceedings in 1998.

Now the prominent Democrat is being charged with providing false information to the Justice Department’s Foreign Agents Registration Act unit about his work for Ukraine.

This is a huge development for Trump, even though it might not seem like it on the surface.

For months, the establishment media heralded the Mueller investigation as an investigation against corrupt Republicans, foreign agents, and a president they claimed was colluding with a foreign power.

But the Mueller report completely shattered the left’s narrative.

It turned out that the president was completely innocent of any “collusion” but Democrats might not be in the clear.

After Democrats endlessly hyped up Trump’s impending “impeachment,” the American people will see that instead of Trump’s indictment, a former Obama counsel is being indicted, and there might be more to come.

The hunters have become the hunted, and Trump’s 2020 chances could be looking brighter than ever.
