Idaho Lawmakers Push Bill That Would Treat Abortion as What It Really Is -- Murder

Share

Idaho state lawmakers released the draft of a bill that would classify abortion as murder and allow for the prosecution of abortionists and others who conduct abortions.

Although Idaho Code already defines murder as “the unlawful killing of a human being including, but not limited to, a human embryo or fetus,” killing the unborn child through abortion is currently legal in the state.

The Idaho Code also currently prohibits the prosecution of “any person for conduct relating to an abortion for which the consent of the pregnant woman, or a person authorized by law to act on her behalf, has been obtained or for which such consent is implied by law.”

This new bill — the Idaho Abortion Human Rights Act — would remove the laws that block prosecution, according to Idaho’s local Coeur d’Alene Press.

Republican state Reps. John Green and Heather Scott introduced the bill on Jan 22., the 46th anniversary of Roe. v. Wade.

“To accomplish this historic restoration of human rights for the unborn in Idaho, the act simply repeals the prohibition of prosecution for abortion, found in Idaho Code 18-4016 and puts the matter within existing statute for the prosecution of murder, where it clearly belongs,” the lawmakers said.

“Abortion is, without question, the chief means of depriving unborn Idahoans of the most fundamental of all human rights, which is the right to life.”

In 2018, almost 42 million unborn children were killed worldwide by abortion, according to Worldometers.

Republican lawmakers aren’t the only ones toughening their stance on abortion; leftists are doubling down on the horrific practice.

Should the Supreme Court revisit Roe v. Wade?

Last week, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed a bill legalizing abortion up until the moment of birth.

Abortion at any stage of pregnancy is horrific, but there’s something particularly barbaric about poisoning the heart of a fully formed baby who would survive and thrive outside the womb.

And New York isn’t the only ones pushing these evil laws.

Seven other states and Washington, D.C., already allow abortion until birth for any reason — Alaska, Colorado, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon and Vermont.

Democratic lawmakers in Virginia have also introduced legislation to allow abortions up until the moment of birth.

Thank God for lawmakers like those in Idaho who are committed to ending this evil and barbaric practice in their state.
