Some weddings are the stuff fairy tales are made of, and some are more like horror films.
Case in point: An Indonesian couple was arrested because they allegedly ate the genitals of the wife’s accused rapist after the husband reportedly murdered him.
According to a report from Agence France Presse, the husband, Rudi Efendi, was enraged when he found out that his wife had been raped a week before their wedding.
Efendi, 30, admitted to murdering the man after he found out about his wife’s alleged rape, the report said. Efendi also said he acted alone.
After murdering the man, Efendi cut off his genitals and then demanded his wife cook them. The couple then ate the genitals together.
“I was so outraged,” Efendi said, and eating the victim’s genitals was the only way “to cure my heartache.”
The victim was only identified as a driver the wife used to date. His body was found in early October in a burned van in the Tulangbawang district of the Muslim-majority nation, according to police.
Sulistyaningsih, a local police spokeswoman who reportedly goes by only one name, said, “The case is still under investigation but we strongly suspect that this is a premeditated murder.”
Police believe Efendi committed the murder and that his wife acted as an accomplice by inviting the victim to a meeting. When the victim arrived, only Efendi was present and that was when Efendi stabbed the man to death and cut off his genitals.
We’ve reported our fair share of grotesque stories, but this has to one of the worst. We can only hope the Indonesian government punishes this couple to the fullest extent that its law allows.
