My guess is that Harvey Weinstein’s days of appearing at liberal fetes are pretty much finished. After all, no matter how much money you’ve donated to the Democrats, no matter how many times you’ve taken on the NRA, once you’ve been exposed as a serial pervert and alleged rapist, it’s pretty much over for you. (Unless you were a Democrat president.)
However, it wasn’t always that way. Even though most of the reportage on Weinstein that appeared after the sluice gates were opened by a New York Times expose acknowledged that Weinstein’s predatory behavior was long considered an “open secret” among Hollywood types, he had always been welcome at all manner of liberal events, from fundraisers to dinners to fundraisers to political functions — and even to fundraisers.
In fact, he was even present at what was hailed as the greatest feminist revolt against toxic masculinity in this nation’s august 241-year history: One of the Women’s March events that took place right after President Trump’s inauguration.

Here he was during a march in Park City, Utah — the posh ski resort town that plays host to the Sundance Film Festival — demonstrating against that awful sexual predator Donald J. Trump:
We added a circle just so those of you still unfamiliar with his ruddy visage didn’t have to play “Where’s the Depraved Hollywood Sexual Abuser?”

As you can see, Weinstein was co-mingling with the well-heeled, pussy-hatted rabblement who were outraged over sketchy, politically motivated accusations of sexual impropriety against Trump that, even in the unlikely event they were all true, would have constituted a rather dull Tuesday evening at Weinstein’s Chateau Marmont suite. Ironically, one of the keynote speakers at the largest Women’s March — Ashley Judd — is one of the women accusing Weinstein of sexual impropriety.
Unless he was doing research for a self-help book titled “How to Effectively Process 80 Gigatons of Cognitive Dissonance,” Weinstein’s presence wasn’t exactly in line with the stated goals of the march, which were to “harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change” and to provide “intersectional education on a diverse range of issues and creating entry points for new grassroots activists & organizers to engage in their local communities through trainings, outreach programs and events.”
For whatever reason, the website’s stated goals didn’t say anything about “demanding the capacity to advance in our careers by watching a fat, unshaven billionaire lecher shower himself” or “the ability to be importuned into getting a massage by an insanely-powerful creep in a bathrobe.” I just skimmed the website though, so maybe it was there.
The point is that almost every person in that photo who doesn’t have a red circle around them likely knew that the man who does was a serial pervert of the most unseemly and dangerous sort, and yet they tolerated him. Celebrated him, even, given that he was one of the biggest celebrities there.
In all fairness, the march wasn’t exactly invite-only. For all their faults, the left would never invite a known predator to an event sponsored by a feminist group, especially not in 2017. Aside from the mephitic optics of it all, he’d be ostracized. No self-respecting woman of power would ever lower herself to be seen at the same table — much less the same event — as such an incorrigible creep.
